yeah. since nothing had really changed except the date, the governor could have worded that much better. "everyone's doing great, hang in there. let's keep up the good work for a few more weeks....blah blah blah" or something to that effect.

I drove down Lake Mary Rd over the weekend heading back home from Flagstaff. From my observation, there was mud everywhere and lots of standing water in the usual spots. Most of the smaller roads that shoot off LM Rd were pretty muddy. If this warm weather holds for 10 days or so, that should help.

Actually, the home my father was in was very nice. Much different from those large, 500 bed facilities. It was an actual home in a neighborhood. You wouldn’t know it unless you walked inside. Once we couldn’t do it anymore, it was the best place for my dad. The staff was awesome. And since there were only 5 patients, they received excellent care. It was as close to home as we could get. Very compassionate. Trust me when I say this. We gave it our best for almost 2 years, but we just couldn’t do it anymore. We needed help. I was worried about my mom’s health by then. I was the one that drove my dad to the home on move-in day. Taking my dad on that first day was the HARDEST thing I’ve ever had to do in my life. Ever! Period!

With the exception of cruise ships, those places are about the worst place to be right now! My heart goes out to those people since they’re so vulnerable to any change. My father was in a private group home(5 patients) for the last year of his life. Even though most of the residents were incapacitated in some way, they all were funny in their own little way. Most just wanted a friend to talk to. 😢 My mom visited my dad every day until he passed. I saw him almost as much. The employees said we were the only family to visit their loved one. 😟

Absolutely! And now, do you notice the media saying.....”we haven’t hit the peak yet, wait 2 weeks”. Then 2 weeks from now, they’ll say.....”well, we haven’t hit the peak yet”. They told us back in late February that by mid-March the hospitals will be overrun! So they keep moving the goal posts to continue the panic. The media is playing a very dangerous game with the American people.

At what point do we get on with life? Social distancing to continue another 3 months? 6? 1 year? No school until the Fall? Restaurants closed to dine-in until September? All non-essential businesses closed until June? If this continues, the human cost not related to the corona virus will be tragic. Both financially and mentally. The dark story no one wants to talk about will rear it’s ugly head as people make a final personal decision that will forever change the lives of their loved ones. That’s phucked up and sad. Sometimes politicians make “feel good” decisions without any thought to the consequences those decisions may have.
