Good question. You should ask them. I sent a letter asking this and other questions to all of the commissioners 2 days ago and have yet to hear back from any of them. I will let you know what I find out if they respond.

That's exactly right... There are a few people with vibes and chills up there leg for this tag surrender, but has G&F has not done their due diligence and surveyed all hunters or done any polls to verify support from the hunters.

I have no problem with that personally, but the vibe I'm getting is most would like a surrender program, so I'm working within that agenda. Kent "Most would like a surrender program". Is there a poll, survey, or facts to back that up?

Heck, if I can get a dear tag every year for a unit with 100% draw like 35b and then surrender it and claim it as a tax deduction and keep my points, I am all for this! I can finally deduct the application fee while building bonus points!

Yep, it will look bad for awhile, but soon it will provide twice as much feed for the elk and deer with areas opened up by the fire.

It would be nice if Martin Gueruena or John McGehee would come on here and explain why they think the unit can actually support the numbers of tags that they are issuing. I'm sure they have some sort of formula or reasoning. Let's hear from the professionals.
