    Kaibab Rifle Hunters

Look on the card again. I’ve always got just projectiles (Nosler) since I reload for 300 H&H - no one makes lead free. But as far as getting then in PA, I don’t know. You can use lead, the right thing to do is as described above - bag the guts and drop at check station, that will also enter you in the lottery for good stuff.

    Tipping guides

When it's goodl service I do $100/day to the guide (which does work out to 10-15% of the package if you're out all 5-7 days. $500 minimum, my first elk hunt was 2hrs long) and $50/day to the cook & any working assistant Guide. Straphangers or other guys in camp just out for the fun don't get anything. The cook also keeps the camp clean, wood stove stocked, pot of coffee always on - things you appreciate after being out all day. This is unless the guide is also the owner, in that case he's already been paid.

Safety, Safety, Safety guns are always loaded!

It's not an "accidental shooting". Modern guns don't go off when you drop them. He had to have had his finger on the trigger, safety off, a round in the chamber, and pointed at another human being. He was arrested because his NEGLIGENCE almost killed a child. IMHO. Did you catch the part about the other unsecured loaded weapons placed around the house in the reach of a 6-year old?

Do I have to have an ffl to ship a gun?

Gunbroker.com also carries a list of cooperating FFLs, both in your zip code and the destination.

Do I have to have an ffl to ship a gun?

Your answer is on Gunbroker.com. Click the Help Button top right on the homepage, then Selling. Better than “some guy on the Internet said ....”
  6. I got this on my backyard cam in N Phoenix coming to water. I don't think domestic cat, what do you guys think? Any of those three would be unusual around the neighboorhood.

    19A questions, help

Pay the trespass fees on Perkins and/or Larson Ranch. You’ll be one of few with scores of bucks to close in on.
  8. Sig makes a range of replacement factory front sight sizes/heights. Order direct from their website.

    12AW CHAMP

Nice typical 4x4, not a Kaibab monster, but he's mine. Opening day, 70deg and sunshine but the rut is full on, and that was this guy's downfall - not paying attention to anything but his does. SCI 156 7/8. Many thanks to my outfitter, Big Chino & Sons out of Prescott, for the help and assistance. Everyone in the Big Chino family - guides, helpers, the camp cook - is either a firefighter, EMT, or paramedic. Veteran friendly.

CatfishKev - took that Coues in 1991 on Fort Huachuca, Area R, east of the rodeo grounds.

Just did it yesterday. Logged into the portal, selected "you have applications"

    torn rotator cuff

Do it. It doesn't get better on its own. The PT afterwards was the most painful I've ever had (and I've had three spinal fusions) but, 6-8 months later you are healed. Rotator Cuff recovery is a long haul. My surgeon was Dr. Michael Brennan in Phoenix. His office does the ortho for the Diamondbacks. I figured he's seen a lot of shoulders and elbows.

    Fort Huachuca - December

Subscribe to the FMWR Sportsman's Center Facebook page. They post open/closed range areas each week. Also be aware that some traditional good areas (T1, T2, T3) are now permanently closed due to unexploded ordnance. Also, Post access control points (the Gates) have changed this year. Think about Areas S, R, N.

    .22 LR

And we shoot differently now. Used to be a 50rd box and a bolt action - or single shot - got you through an afternoon. Now even a Ruger 10/22 can burn up 500 rds in a couple hours. Many semi-auto shooters (me too) of military look-alikes with 20 or 30 rd magazines: more people shooting, shooting faster, shooting more rds at a sitting.

    Unit 8 late Outfitterd

That's actually a Unit 10 Late bull. Johnny's got those Dan'l Boone eyes and picked this guy up from the far ridge in the background opening morning, buried in the Junipers. Saw just a shoulder and tips. 10x7, 421", 280 yds.

Unit 10 Late Rifle Palmated Bull

Not a very productive first 4 days on the Ranch, so moved elsewhere and tagged this one Tuesday afternoon with the Big Chino Guide Service team.

Unit 10 Late Rifle Palmated Bull

360 class. It'll depend on how those top ends are measured, they're long enough to call him an 8x6. We put a tape on him in camp, 55 inch spread, mains are 44 inches, tines are 16-18 inches, good mass measurements. 432 yard shot, running quartering away. If I had thought about the shot I would have talked myself out of it, but put the crosshairs high shoulder front of chest and took it. Center punched the lung. He stopped in mid stride, did that wobbly thing, and fell over. Nosler 180g Accubonds, 300 H&H Ruger #1.

What is your Go-To round for Elk?

    300 H&H, 180g Accubond, 65.0 grains IMR 4350 for 2900fps.

    300 H&H Powders?

The other thing that helps is that you can actually FIND and BUY 4350. It's in stock with the various online dealers as well as at Bruno's.
