I just googled the user name and found this posted 6/18/2022 Seems phishy to me...

I like to ignore my statements and anxiously wait by the mailbox for the tag or return check, like our forefathers did.

Best line in the film. 7:30 "There, that'll hold em, nothing to it, as long as ............."

I had Von Hanson's rescue 80#s of ground elk that another outfit "butchered" (dual meaning there). Their Big Popa Brats, chorizo, Italian sausage, and assorted summer sausages are on point! They proved the old adage that cheap processing ain't good and good processing ain't cheap. Totally worth it though. It would be a tragedy if they ever went out of business. They are a gem!

GD deceptive marketing, their commercials make it look sooo good! Thanks for saving me from the first hand experience.

My F-250 V-10 is pretty green... Most people look at me funny when I say that until they realize I am talking about the paint color.

Wanted electrician/trailer mechanic
HorseHunter replied to firstcoueswas80's topic in Classified Ads
Same thing happened in my home breaker panel. The GC did the wiring and had a buddy sign off on it. He did not know that the breakers have torque settings. Also, it is INCH Pounds, not foot pounds so your mechanic torque wrench (ft/lbs) will foul up the process. Found this on the WWW but verify with a real sparky here. -
Snake Avoidance Clinics
HorseHunter replied to down2hunt's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
https://huntercanine.com/rattlesnake-training-for-dogs/ H.C. does good work in the North Valley To level set your expectations, they take your dog on a long lead and expose to snake in a cage and use e-collar to reinforce that Rattlesnakes=Bad It is a fairly quick process. Way better than learning from an actual bite. Good Luck -
Sorry to hear, glad you and yours are staying safe.

I bought a cab cover for my crew cab pickup after I got it repainted and added a flatbed. Pro tip: I always wash my pickup before I use it so any dust doesn't scratch the paint when the cover is on. https://www.covercraft.com/us/en Covercraft is a good outfit with quality products.

Your Russian version is the most sought after for sure. Looks like someone cleaned the stock up too. That is a great look. GLWS

Circa 1991-2 the chi-com version was had for $60 (on super sale) wrapped in brown butcher paper and soaked in cosmoline. Owned 1 of each, the chinese had a tent stake boyonet and the roosky had that blade bayonet. I'm sure there sure still containers of them somewhere in the world. I think I still have that little oil can and ammo pouch that came with them around here somewhere. Crap, just realized that I'm the old guy now! How can that be?

I get it. I use doug-fir and paint it with anything I have on hand. For screws I use a #12 (or #14) 2-3/4 Phillips flathead self tapping wood to metal screw. My first two horse I refloored in '94 I used carriage through bolts and that was a major PIA , I found that the juice was not worth the squeeze as they say. When I was selling lumber, I learned that the pressure treated lumber (cca green treated) was made from hemlock and fir (hem/fir) or SPF (Spruce/Pine/Fir) and had less of a structural rating than good 'ol Doug-Fir (framing lumber) Also comes in several grades I stuck with #2 or better (2btr). If I guy was super picky they could pick out #1 boards or be over the top and grab the "select structural" (select/struc) that they used for trusses on the top and bottom cords. Actually knew a guy that refloored a track hoe trailer with 8/4 (2") x8" x 20' Purple Heart hardwood. As you can imagine that was a spendy proposition. He worked for a utility so was not "his" money. He was hoping not to replace the boards every other year. He was kind enough to give me a couple of the cut-offs. Also, maybe your buddy got a hold of some grade 8 type screws, they tend to snap instead of bending as you likely know. Although I have not seen wood to metal screws with a hardness rating. My use has been horse trailers, hay haulers, utility, car trailer, etc with out an issue. (Knock on wood).

Neighbor (1/4 mile away) has one by the road for sale. Looks pretty good. Needs a new floor and asking $3300 obo (I would hit them at $2500 or less if I were you) I've done plenty of floors and they are easy but with lumber prices would be $400 with screws + your labor. Has ramp gate. Maybe 7" wide 12-14' long Dual axle Tongue goes under frame (not welded to the face. If you want I can go take some pics and send to you. 2Mi N of Carefree highway E of I17 DM your cell if you want pics and I will run down there when I can later today and snap some.

https://www.americanhunter.org/content/8-best-charge-stopping-bear-cartridges/ Stumbled across this article on the subject and includes some handgun cartridges.

+1 on the bear spray in addition to the handgun you shoot well. It's a good practice to have a buddy at the ready while you are distracted tending to the downed animal. Friends in AK tell me that in some areas (mostly the islands) bears rush to the sound of a rifle shot like a dinner bell trying to beat the hunter to the carcass. My MT friends have not related that level of bear activity there. Aside from the bear issue, it should be a fun hunt!

He was a wealth of information. He is the reason I would kick my high school guidance counselor in the shin if I ever saw him again for not telling me that a person could make a living doing what Tony did. Having the awesome adventures/experiences then sharing them with the public in the written word. A life well lived as far as I could tell. Rest in peace.

Yep, Great fundraiser for the BSA in the area too. Some cool finds for sure!

Tragic situation. I've heard it said, if you fail to plan you are planning to fail. For those saying "what can be done?" This FBI resource is a good start. You can use "ctrl f" to find keywords if you don't want to read the document in its entirety. https://www.fbi.gov/file-repository/rems-k-12-guide-508.pdf It's a 75 page comprehensive plan that someone put a lot of time into creating and IMO should be reviewed and implemented at every school.

That is awesome! Will you get into tanning and selling your furs? Great to see the next generation out there getting after it. Thanks for sharing and all the best to you! Welcome to the site! -
