Slick trick 100 grain magnum I have killed elk, deer, javelina with them and they fly great! They leave a awesome exit wound! I just bought some Slick trick nukes mechanical broadheads. Might try them out on deer this year.

Our goal for this hunt was for my son to shoot the first bull we saw since he could only hunt Friday and Saturday.We got to our location before first light and around 745am this bull was feeding about 100 yards below us. One shot from the 300 win mag and he fell in his tracks. It is my son's first elk!

I have a 300 win mag with a timney trigger set at 20 ounces for my antelope hunt last year. I'm wanting to increase it maybe up to 2lbs. Just curious what is a good trigger pull.

Looks like it comes down to personal preference. I'm going to keep it at 20oz for my sons bull hunt in 8. He said he likes it. Then after that try it at 2lbs. Thanks for everyone's input.

Just got back from my unit 8 archery antlerless hunt. We went 2 for 3. My son has the 27 cow hunt starting Oct. 17th. I'm gonna head up there for a weekend scouting trip. Looking for info on good places to start. Just bought the flatline map for 27. Awesome map. Appreciate any info.

Yes a fun hunt! My boys hunted it in 2011. One of them killed a big buck near the hill you told me about. Lots of deer there. Have fun and good luck!

We have harvested 2 cows so far. My friend is still hunting. Bulls bugling good in the morning. Herds are moving.
