gonna have to say this is a pretty ignorant statment..... Last time I checked my archery gear was pretty dang deadly. I wouldn't hesitate to shoot any dangerous game with it as long as the situation was right...

I only hunt Mule deer over the counter with my bow. AZ has some great mule deer hunting every year if you put the work in. the desert has Giants. Just have to pass a lot of 140-160 type deer to find them. (this was the small one compared to the one my partner missed opening weekend) that I was willing to drop my standards for and kill this past January. Not saying this buck is 200" club because he's not but bucks in the high 180 to 190" range are very huntable each year. You don't need the strip to kill 200"+ bucks. Bonus... You get to hunt every season and not waste 20 years for one shot at it.

Me and my partner Nash headed up for a little bowfishing Saturday afternoon. Knowing the weather was questionable we still took the gamble. Got to the lake about 530 pm arriving to decient weather conditions just slightly overcast. As soon as the boat was launched we had 20-30mpg wind gust and rain hit. We re trailered immeiadatly and sat in the truck for about 2 hours waiting for the weather to pass. After getting extremely restless we said the heck with it and headed out about 7:30. The fishing was slow to start but we put 4 or five fish in the boat the first hour. Then the rain wind and lightning returned but we stayed out. Still raining About 1030 I shot the first monster of the night fairly deep fish. We figured it was a decient fish when we saw it in the water but had no idea till we boated it. Turned out to be 40lbs. About 20 more minutes after we troll down a little further and same thing another decient buffalo shows up. Little did we know when Nash shot it that it would turn out to be 12oz shy of the state record. The fish weighed in at 46.6 lbs. after boating that the rain continued to become harder so we pulled off the water. Besides the miserable conditions it's a night we will both remember for a long time.

Hahah that's fine post the pic away! We're not shy the fish are much better lookin than me and my partner. The fish were shot at Roosevelt. Pics were taken down at Apache the next morning when we were getting ready to try our luck there for some day time shooting.

That's a nice change of pace Pac... it wasn't personal just a time of year thing. Elk and antelope season seems to draw the latest and greatest band wagon riders out of the word works... Get people in every day asking for "elk bows" and "elk arrows" haha I try and advise against and get people into what's comfortable and stick with it. Beautiful setup you have regardless and congratulations

Or just get a big limit credit card like I did that I can't afford and put in for what ever the heck you want. Screw odds better to be lucky than good. Just apply for what you want and watch that credit balance sky rocket! Good luck 😂

I would have to disagree that the archery hunters have messed up the elks summer patterns... That might be the case to some small extent but what has messed up the elks patterns you found in the summer would be the rut kicking in. Bulls don't stay in the same area all the time and now that they are looking for hot cows they could move miles and miles. Good luck but don't be locked down on one area. Keep mobile and keep looking.
