    Over Scoring

I typically under judge animals... I guess when I get them on the ground it sometimes works out to be a delightful surprise when I run a tape on them.

    Bagging my first FOX

Congrats man that's awesome!!! I've been fortunate to shoot a bunch of those bushy tailed turds! Its an accomplishment to get one. I'm just waiting to get one with my bow for a mount. I might be setting my goals a little high but I want to get an arrow in a kit fox for a lifesize! Happy hunting and keep at it!!!

    Bear hunting question

Vowell no not in the spring. I hunt the pair fruits In August/september on the over the counter bear hunts. I finally drew a spring hunt this year and plan on focusing mainly on calling but if it becomes repeatedly unsuccessful I might to resort to hunting over springs and water sources as the summer heat increases

    Bear hunting question

Find prickley pair with ripe fruit and you will find bears( at least in the southern units) If you can find good pair fields near a water source you can almost be sure you'll find bears. I personally glass them. Then call them in. I called one in last year with my foxpro from over 1000 yards and shot the bear and lost him. Made me sick and spent a week looking. But one thing I know is the OTC tags are simply amazing if you can find the right spot. I was one of the 20 lucky few to pull a 34A spring bear tag for 2013. It will be a new experience for me since I've only ever hunted over the counter bear hunts but I look forward to finding lots of bears and hopefully a successful hunt...

    Bear hunting question

The OTC tags are great I had 10 bears in 6 days last year in 2012 its a fun hunt just hot and miserable as far as weather goes...
  9. Camofreak Chances are it will be fairly deep shooting but it shouldn't be a problem to boat fish. Look at the thread BowfishAZ posted today (Bowfishing in the cold) look at the fish we shot last night and it was freezing out. It was so cold the water was steaming...

LOOKING to buy a truck (Toyota)

My favorite trucks for sure. The 4cylinder 2.4s are definitely indestructible. I won't drive anything off road besides a Toyota. Good luck in your search. I've been lookin for a late 90s Tacoma 4 door right now. Picture of my Toyota I built up.

    draw weight question

Lots of bows will still work like that but they definitely won't shoot properly or the way intended. A bow on an engineering stand point performs best when all fasteners(bolts/screws) are bottomed out. That's the way the bows are designed. They will still shoot but you won't get the performance out of the bow... (Speed recoil reduction and overall shoot ability) I work in an archery shop and get this all the time. Best bet is to buy a bow that the draw weight fits you best maxed out that's where best performance is achieved.

    WHO'S READY FOR BOWFISHING SEASON?!

I've got the itch and can't wait to hit the lake! March-July are some of my favorite months of the year. Great way to spend the off season "bow hunting"... There are 2 tournaments coming up that I know of. First is bill like bass days at lake Pleasnt and the 2nd one is one that HUNTAZ and I are putting on at Roosevelt lake! Here's some pictures of myself, HUNTAZ, and bowfishAZ and another buddy slaying the carp and buffalo last year!
  15. Gotcoues first off congradulations on your wife and daughter getting their pigs!!! But I can't believe you'd hunt/even share a glassing hill with a coon like bowfishAZ. Haha great job guys on gettin it done!
  16. Myself and my 2 partners are "camping out" basically sleeping in the boat and back of the truck in the parking lot probably next to bowfishAZ, HuntAZ any their partner. Wouldn't call it camping more Like bumming it!
  17. Day shoot! Sat and Sunday. Probably from like 7am to 3pm somewhere in that time frame each day.
  18. You pay per day. If I remember correct it was 25$ a man per day and they gave us the weigh in times and everything when you resister. I would think registration would be at like 6 or 7 am Saturday or possibly even Friday afternoon. That's how it was last year.

Really surprised to see the amount of snow at home (poor Toyota) and when I got to work. A few pictures.

    elk herd with hoof rot

Elk Hopscotch?... its sad to see. Good thing predation isn't a problem like here in AZ. Those elk wouldn't stand a chance.
  21. lol...You only qualify for free elk tags if you can't provide a drivers license and....you haven't been in the country illegal for more than 5 years. hahaha what if I quit working, leech off the hard working man, and claim my residence as D.E.S? Do I then receive the free elk, antelope tag?

    Same bull?

Shed hunting is always a mystery. Some time on top of each other and sometimes the other side doesn't exist. Looks like the same bull to me. Awesome bull and to top it off great pair of sheds!

Need some advice on a gun/bino trade

Keep your glasses. Optics hold value and this gun craze won't last your being offered about 1500$ worth in regular market and 2000$ at todays market. Last I looked a good pair of Leicas were still 2200-2400$ every day. Do yourself a favor and wait for right buyer or right trade. Good luck on sell!

    Varmint/predator rifle?

My favorite is any AR platform .204 ruger 20practical or .223 just because of fast follow up shots. Depends what you're looking for. If your hunting for hides 20 cal is probably best because It hardly ever exits. If you want to blow stuff up for smaller varmints like prarire dogs 220 swift is the nastiest with 22-250 right behind. For larger varmints like coyotes if you looking for an explosion 25-06 or 243 is perfect with velocity and longer range capability.
