I just bought a ranch model Ruger American in 5.56. It has a short stock and short barrel. I plan to use it for coyotes. Anybody have any thoughts on how the short barrel will shoot.

Not having the mag cylinder made it look suspicious. And now there is a mag cylinder for free???????????

You guys are making a mountain out of a molehill. Some of the older fat fireman we have could not do the test either. She was better in the intellect tests than the physical tests unlike many of you. "standaders" we dont need no stinking "standaders". LOL

Since I had no time to scout I did the run and gun technique in 4A. Not a gobble was heard. I suspect that the Turkeys are getting call shy from over calling just like the Elk.

Another problem is the face mask causes my glasses to fogg up. Grow a beard, camo that beard with hair dye.

I hunted 4A last weekend and did not hear one gobble. Are Turkey like ELK and have been over called to the extent that they are getting retrained to not gobble?

But, I thought that you wanted to go "hunting". You are doing what is called escouting and asking for free stuff. Go out in the woods and hunt. It s more fun than someone telling everything. If you dont want to hunt then hire someone to hunt for you.

An order of protection is a paper. It says that he has to stay away from you. You also cannot go his work and wave it and expect him to be arrested. If he violates your OOP then a police officer can arrest him. But, in the woods where are the police? The biggest problem is that you are going Elk hunting by yourself. Not the best practice for anybody. And now you know that somebody in the woods might hurt you and you are still going alone? The bottom line is that you are practicing risky behavior. Only you can decide whether you want to take that risk. The OOP will not protect you from getting hurt, as I said it is a piece of paper.

Shoot lower. You didnt say how high or did you shoot off a bench or a typical turkey shot.
