  1. Hypothetically, of course: HAM hunt for 33 is over half over and my friend may be desperate enough to hire a last-minute guide. He has limited mobility. I suck as a guide. Got recommendations? Any idea about guide fees? ps you pay for what you get. "I wuk 4 food": He forgot the burritos the one day!
  2. Hello everyone! I am a new member and this is my first post. Such a cool site! Last year I had the opportunity to tag along on a bow hunt in Unit 32 that we accessed from a fiends ranch. That hunt ended with us not being able to get closer than 90 yards to a nice buck, but I caught the bug! We were scheduled to hunt the same area again this year, but our friend is not going to be there to host, so we no longer have the access point. Since my father and I have already planed the mid January dates, we have decided to go anyway. Last year we hiked several miles in and spiked out for the week. That is the plan for this year as well. The only difference is we don't have the access we did last year so we are looking at other locations. After talking to the AZ Public Access Person (sorry can't remember the exact title) for that section, we have narrowed it down to section 33...I think lol. We will be renting a 4x4 when we arrive and driving in to hopefully park the truck and backpack in from there. I have been studying maps but would love any and all advice I can get on this. The goal is to get to where pressure is less and we are not afraid to hike a bit and camp out for 4 to 5 days. This is our big hunt for the year and we are just excited to get out there! I attached a pic of last years camp!
  3. Game Planner Maps

    General Season Prep

We're less than a month away from the opener for the first general deer seasons of the year. There's still time to get a Game Planner Map for your hunt this fall. Turn around time is less than a week on a Game Planner Red Zone Map and Custom Maps are ~8 business days. If you need something for a scouting trip this weekend give a Digital Map a try. At only $9.99 its a heck of a deal, and when used with the free Avenza Maps app it turns your mobile device into a GPS and you do not need a wireless signal. I'm always happy to help CWTers get their device setup. The process is simple and I can talk you through it over the phone and help with delivering the download. Even if you don't need a map for your hunt you can take advantage of the Free Game Planner Map Viewer just by registering with a valid email. Use it to map scout your unit and print your own maps. Please contact me if you have any questions: email: ed@gameplannermaps.com phone: (480) 620-3309 Best of luck and thanks again to all the CWTers who are using Game Planner Maps this fall! Ed
  4. Finally after hunting and seeing only 41 does in the my 6 days of the hunt came my last chance. I was not going to be able to to hunt the last day so Saturday morning me and a co-worker met up and started the adventure into the unknown. After pulling up to the gate we see two trucks unloading quads and rhinos. So after thinking this is going to be one tough day with all these people hunting in the same area. We said WTH lets drive in and start hiking up a hill and see what happens , not long after hiking up and setting up the binos I see 4 jeeps and 3 more quads coming down the road. But the funny thing is that while I am sitting there you can see that all they are doing is hunting from the road, driving and stopping looking up at the side of the hill driving some more (as my pops would say bunch of Roadrunners) all I could do was chuckle a little and think of him at that time. So me and my buddy get up and move around to the other side of the mountain when out in front of us about 100 yds pops up a deer from behind one of the three trees on the whole side of the mountain one shot from the 300 RUM and down he goes. Needless to say I was one happy camper.
