Couesdeer Report post Posted Sunday at 03:11 PM A friend of mine dropped off a few beater .22s for me to restore. While am quite adept at (and enjoy) polishing turds, this one is a bit beyond my interest/time. I is an older Marlin 81 DL. Tube fed .22. Takes 22 S, L, and LR. Upon testing, It feeds and fires. It does not eject, however. It is missing an extractor claw off the bolt. The stock has been violated in more ways than a drunk cheerleader on homecoming night. Looks to have been shortened and a bubba'd buttplate was installed. It has also been split and repaired complete with new wood screw. Front sight is missing and the exterior "patina" is more like a thin coat of rust. If a guy thought the juice was worth the squeeze on this rifle, he could purchase the extractor (and probably spring), a better looking stock and clean it up and have a nice little .22. I do Cerakote and would be happy to help out with a new finish over the summer. Parted out on ebay, it should fetch considerably more than what I am asking for it. I only want $50 for it. That should nicely cover a date night with my wife at the Chili's. Located in Catalina, North of Tucson.
