. 375 Ruger Handloads

Recommended Posts

hello all,

I just picked up a .375 Ruger. At this point there are few factory loads available: 270 grain and 300 grain respectfully. I am looking to see what successes people have had loading up ammo that is on the smaller side of the caliber, say 200-235.

AZ G&F chased my checks and now I need to fill some of my time being "productive"

Thanks,

I will give this thread one more day to soak.

Any info would be great, it is a relatively new caliber and there is not a ton of data out for it.

thanks

on a side note:

I got very lucky and picked up a few pounds of powder and even rounded up some mag primers, if the stars align just right I could make a few that will act as a good starting point.

happy huntin' all y'all

I checked loaddata.com and came up with the following for a Ruger Hawkeye in .375 Ruger:

225 grain Speer/84.0 grains Ramshot Big Game = 2,800 fps

250 Sierra Game King/77.0 grains RL-15 = 2,753 fps

260 Nosler AccuBond/76.0 grains RL-15 = 2,687 fps

260 Nosler Partition/76.0 grains RL-15 = 2,766 fps

You might want to drop down 5-10% and work your way up...

Enjoy!

post-2565-1244652392_thumb.jpgBrief update:

I had the oppertunity to head out to the Tucson Gun Club this week and test some loads. Eight loads to be exact, so my shoulder showed some signs of use after 24 rounds. All were starting loads but one looked like a pretty good starting point. R15 under a Hornady Interlock 225 grain, 100 yards off a sandbag.

thanks
