Record book

Recommended Posts

I'm not an expert by any stretch on record books but there are a couple things that I thought were requirements. So here are a couple questions. Can you enter an animal in a record book If your bow is set at 80% letoff. Question two can you enter an animal in a record book if you harvested the animal with the aid of an electronic device, includeing calls or rangefinders.

80% let-off bows have been allowed in Pope & Young for a few years now.......however, those entries using bows with greater than 65% are denoted with an asterisk (*). Electronic rangefinders are acceptable.......however, NO electronic devices can be attached to the bow OR arrow (lighted arrow knocks are ineligible for entry).

Electronic devices that are not attached to the bow or arrow may or may not be allowed.....depending on the situation. Example: Two-way radios used to guide a hunter to an animal violate rules of Fair Chase for B&C and P&Y.....therefore, making them ineligible. Some electronic calls may make an entry ineligible, especially if they are not legal within the respective state.

For ANY specific question that is not listed on the P&Y website, feel free to call Glenn Hisey @ (507) 867-4144 and he can answer all of your questions regarding entry requirements. Hope it helps.
