Scope power setting

Recommended Posts

I have a few buddies that have long range set ups with turret style systems. One guy said you have to use 1 specific power settting and stick with it at all times to make the click distances right. The other couple guys said you can move the power up and down and it doesn't affect how many clicks it takes. Zeiss has a calculator for there hold over systems that gives you a specific power that has to be used. What's the real realities of power setting and turrets?

Adjusting for drop using turrets doesn't matter what power you use. Reticles can matter what power you are on, depends on what focal plane the reticle is in. If the reticle gets larger and smaller while zooming it doesn't matter what power you use, that is the 1st focal plane.
