"Pat" Madden Nominated

Recommended Posts

I don't see where I attacked you. I simply pointed out that your quick assumption with no facts. I followed by giving you plenty of facts about his education and his life long commitment as a sportsman, hunter and angler. All of those are facts that I have found by doing some research,

Do your own research and find facts that refute mine. And justify why Madden should not be a Commissioner.

Do you have a reason for your characterization of a man who did a lot of work for one of the most endangered species in the country?

He likes Condors. I didn't say it was good or bad.

I'm a deer / elk / antelope hugger.

I never had much use for a Condor. They taste worse than dove but not as bad as Spotted Owl

Man o' man "archerycrazy" loves the commission. Anyone who has any verbal opposition or doubt gets jumped on.

I still don’t know what makes this individual qualified to vote on the future of wildlife or hunting as we know it. No formal education in such. Even the lowest level of wildlife manager for the USFS, FWS, BLM, BIA etc. has to have some education. I want educated opinions based in research, data, and previously proven sound management practices, not just opinions. Our wildlife is far too precious to be left to an amateur with experience limited to checking data cards on slot machines at casinos and running license plates (he was an investigator for the gaming dept. and worked for Flagstaff P.D.)

What can he tell me from his “experience” about Density dependent mortality, carrying capacity, trophic structure dynamics, adaptive management, ecosystem management etc.?

We get pissed when the AZGFD votes on something without supporting data. This man may not have the skill set to better the situation. What will he base his decisions off of? Experience? In what…Law enforcement?

Bottom line: we now have a cop that will vote on wildlife decisions.

While we’re at it, why don’t we get pharmacists to run machine shops, Deli workers building space shuttles, and garbage truck drivers doing heart surgery?

When Barack Obama ran in 2008 we all screamed that he was essentially a political virgin with very little experience, yet we’re willing to accept a commissioner with the same qualifications- none. All I ask is for qualified people in every level of government.

I'm going to let you in on a little secret............the people in Government are not qualified. Just look at our congress. ;) I won't even get into Obama's faults.

The G&F does not make decisions based on scientific data anyway so it really doesn't matter if it's a cop or truck driver, as long as you can be a bureacrat

Yes, I do love the Commission and Department. Without them, we would not be hunting or fishing today becuse we wouldn't have any wildlife left. At the start of the last century our deer and elk were nearly extinct. The game and fih department was formed and the slow recovery began.

If Mr. Madden is not qualified, how did he get the nod of the Selection Recommendation Board, The Governor and the Senate Natural Resources Committee? Whether you like it or not, he will likely be sitting as a confirmed Commissioner on the 1st.

I wonder hw many of the nayayers here are actually members of hunting of angling organizations.

Commissioners= appointed

ap·point·ed

/əˈpointid/

Adjective

1.(of a time or place) Decided on beforehand; designated.

2.(of a building or room) Equipped or furnished in a specified way or to a specified standard.

Synonyms

stated - fixed

Easy to get the nod for an unqualified individual when unqualified individuals are the selectors.

Keep in mind that people are appointed for a reason. Historically they make great lap puppies to push agendas.

Sportsmen have always been the driving factor/influence in conservation since the good Roosevelt and Pinchot. No commission/commissioner can compete with the value of the conservation oriented sportsman. Ask the NWTF, RMEF, DWF, DU, Ruffed grouse society, QU, QF, PF, SCI, and the Federal Aid in Wildlife Restoration act of 1937. This does not include our contributions from licenses, tags, stamps, app fees, watercraft registration, ohv tags, donations, countless volunteer hours on improvements/restoration projects.

Lark isn’t here anymore so I'm stuck with just quoting him. "Don’t drink the Kool-aid"

The most American thing you can do is think for yourself and question everything.
