Southern Arizona Wildlife Callers Prairie Dog Silhouette Match

Match: Match consists of 36 targets/40 shots in two stages of 18 targets/20 shots each. Stage time limit

is 15 minutes. Shooters will be assigned to relays with the first stage of all relays fired before any

second stages. Initial matches will have three banks of targets. A target must be knocked off the

stand or if it lands on the stand must be off its feet/base to be scored as a hit. A target nicked or

turned on the stand and still standing is a miss. Hitting a target on the wrong bank or hitting more

targets at any distance than as shown in the course of fire will be scored as misses and count as part of

the 20 shots per stage. Multiple target hits on one shot will be scored as one hit and the others are

alibis. Shooter may engage targets in any order or distance but is limited to 20 rounds per stage

including any alibis. There are two classes, Heavy Varmint (HV) and Light Varmint (LV). Shooter

may enter each class or may enter the same class a second time if using a different rifle/handgun. A

rifle entered in the LV class may be entered in the HV class. A rifle fired in the HV class must meet

LV criteria to be used in the LV class. Stages are normally fired from the bench but the shooter may

opt for other recognized positions or use shooting sticks/bipods if desired or handicapped. Shooter

must use the same position throughout the relay. If targets are not available due to no fault of the

shooter (e.g., not reset, wind, multiple hits on one shot or another shooter firing on the wrong bank),

continue firing the stage and the Match Director will resolve the alibi. During an alibi shoot, only

targets at distances that were not available during the normal stage may be engaged with a one minute

per target time limit. Ties to be resolved by 5 shots in 10 minute shootoff stages by class at targets,

distances and procedures to be determined by the Match Director. Shootoff stages to continue until

winner is determined. Scoring to be done by spotters. Scoring challenges to be resolved by the

Match Director. Match Director may prohibit any weapon or ammunition that is determined to be

target destructive. Match targets will not be used for sight in or practice. All targets will be secured

in the SAWC storage box after each match. Match Director may amend match procedures, course of

fire or criteria as necessary for unique or unforeseen conditions. Match fees: $10.00 for first entry,

$5.00 for second entry.
