808 Report post Posted February 3, 2016 You have not revealed what you'll be mounting on said tripod. Exactly. I'm jus gonna throw out my $0.02 here. I'm a noob hunter but avid shooter. I don't have a spotter yet but judging by the terrain in the unit I got drawn for javey in, I couldn't guarantee if I'd get a prone shot, so I picked up a Bog Pod. Practiced shooting off it sitting n kneeling so far n luv it. When I go scouting, I take it with me n prop my binos on it, saves my shoulders, n to be honest it's probly the best investment I've made in a while. Seriously. Once I do decide on a spotter, I can pick up the attachment for that too. Plus when the terrain calls for it, I can use it as a walking stick. Boom, 3 birds, one stone, stick, wtfe.
