Pines or Pinions????

Recommended Posts

Hunting up between flagstaff and williams. Been scouting both the pinion juniper and Pine forest. What do you guys prefer. Is it easier to find and stalk deer in the pines or Junipers? Any help would be great, it's pretty thick in the juniper stuff, I'm just curious how you guys find the deer again once down low???

Find a water source then find a food source on a map. Once you find some of those then locate the easiest way to get between the two. Then (if possible) find a high point and glass that area and you will find deer. In my experience the deer will bed not far from those as well on the north side of a hill (the darker and more secluded the better).

Its funny the easy common since of hunting is always the best advise. We try so many things to get good at and look over the basic hunting skill. Then when someone repeats the basics it sounds like really wise wisdom. This is good advise :)
