OP, what are you shooting in your 6.5CM and 6.5PRC now?

The thing I hate about Tikkas is the short magazine length, especially in a .300WM. You really have to seat the 210/215s way down in the powder column to get the cartridge to fit. Not like the Savage that round was built for. You can always load up a few at lower charge weights and work up to your old load. Not sure how much room you have left in the case to seat deeper.

One of my two favorite movies ever. I have seen it probably 30+ times.

Field & Stream Article on Arizona Trail cam ban
lancetkenyon replied to SirRoyal's topic in The Campfire
Whoa! I haven't hunted big game in AZ but TWICE in the last 10 years either. Mainly because I suck at drawing tags, but not hunting in AZ for 9.5 years is a very legitimate wait if you are trying to draw premium tags. My last elk tag took 18 years. I had 26 BPs for pronghorn and still struck out this year. Haven't had a deer tag since 2014.- 74 replies

The draw , disappointment, sour grapes , ignorance and the money grab
lancetkenyon replied to NYAZHunter's topic in The Campfire
I have yet to draw anything in WY, but continue to apply. Now, they are talking about limiting NR hunters. So my years of applying will probably drop to near zero. Heck, it takes me 6-10 years or so to draw a deer tag, last elk tag took 18 years, and had 26 BPs for pronghorn this year and didn't draw. So you have come to the wrong place for sympathy. -

I use front bipod, rear bag for prone LR shooting. Bipod and build a good rear rest with what you have for hunting. Stump, rocks, jacket, pack, Gatorade bottle, log, shooting sticks, whatever is steady. I have 5 Harris bipods. From prone to sitting.

I borrowed rifles from friends and family for my first 4 years of big game hunting. All 4 different rifles were in .30-06 Spr. When I turned 18, I saved up and bought an Interarms Mark X .270 Win. Hunted with that rifle for years. I killed several deer and an elk with it. Paige killed her first elk with it. My Dad killed his first deer with it too. My cousin killed his first deer with it. Several friends killed both deer and elk with it. It was not smooth. It was not overly accurate. It was not real pretty. It was nothing special. It had a cheap scope on it. But it sure killed a lot of game. I sometimes regret selling it. But I hope the new owner has as good of luck with it as we did.

4D rentals. Big selection, good prices.

I would say totally legit. Have you seen how many fireworks get set off in the lower income neighborhoods! Surprised fireworks stands don't take EBT!

Just saying, ADOT/MCDOT doesn't do ANYTHING fast. And with Fish Creek Hill being closed, it is going to suck getting to Apache Lake for the next year and a half.

Not "this winter". "This winter, next spring, next summer, next fall, next winter".

This is posted in the "antelope hunting" section. So guessing antelope. -
I had a decent buck show up out at Joe Foss Shooting Complex a couple months ago. He was just hanging out on the main range, and would not leave. I ran out and finally herded him off the range so we could start shooting.

Should archery hunts be limited to 40 yard shots? For some people, absolutely. But equipment has changed, practiced archers are out there, and I hear of 100 yard shots. Muzzleloaders have changed. A 600 yard ML is quite common. Rifles have changed. 1000+ shots are common. Rangefinders, optics, packs, vehicles, etc. have all upped the game. Hard to draw the line. Cams have already been outlawed. No need to push MORE regs. Self control is where we need to push ourselves.

It is allowed on a rifle hunt.

I thought, technically, a hunting license is considered written permission to be on STL.

You guys would complain if they hanged you with a new rope....jeez. Don't like it? Don't buy a raffle ticket. No need to $#!+ on the post of a great organization who does more for wildlife than 99.9% of you. These Axisworks built .45 Cal MLs shoot like this...

Had enough to cause a 10" puddle on my driveway Wednesday midday.

I got a case of Winchester AA #8 shot 20ga shells about 3 weeks ago. It was the ONLY case Cabela's had, and I was shocked it was sitting there all by itself.
