    Any Roofers in NW Valley?

What part of the roof (approximately) has a leak, and what type of roof/attic is it? Is the attic accessible under (or above the ceiling) where the leak is?
  2. I am a hand load man myself. I have a 24" Bushmaster Varminter that will consistently shoot 1/4 MOA with my 69 SMK recipe, and 1/2 MOA with my varmint loads. If you hand load, that is the way to go to wring all you can out of just about any rifle, for accuracy, speed, and bullet choice. Lake City brass 69gr. Sierra Match King 25.0gr. Hodgdon Varget CCI BR-4 Primers Loaded to mag length (don't remember COAL off the top of my head) Mixed brass 50gr. Hornady V-Max 25.5gr. Hodgdon Benchmark CCI BR-4 Primers Loaded to match factory length (don't remember COAL off the top of my head) With the 69 SMKs, it will also shoot out to at least 850 yards with astounding precision, and we are shooting it out to 1K now. Wind REALLY starts pushing them around at 600+ yards though. I think 300 yards with a .223 and 69 SMKs is very doable for javelina. I would even say 400+ yards if the rifle will do that accurately every time.

.250 Ackley Improved and 100gr. Sierra Match Kings. First shot was about 12" left due to wind. Second was a hit and a spinning coyote. He went all of 20 yards.

I took one at 1327 yards in January in 21. I have seen plenty out there. But lots of hunting pressure late December and January.

Pay it forward - I will start

I also have a few sets of camo. I would like to see a teenage youth get them if possible. I am 5'7" & 155 pounds, and these still fit me. They can be shrunken down a touch, or let out a touch. 2 @ Woodland BDU in Small Regular. 2 Long sleeve t-shirts size adult large (but closer to medium) and 1 short sleeve t-shirt size large. One set of Realtree AP and "Rockaflauge" BDU pant and Long sleeve button up shirts. I have 3 take-off stocks. One from a Interarms Mark X Mauser 98 LA, a B&C. One from a Remington 700 BDL LA Magnum, stock. One from a Ruger M77 Tang Safety SA, Ramline. The Ruger one does not have a recoil pad (I have no idea where I would have used it).

    New 6.5 SLR Build

I don't anneal after every firing though. About every other for me. But I do usually anneal before sizing also.

    New 6.5 SLR Build

I do it by hand. Takes between 8-10 seconds per brass. What you will need: MAP gas and torch (propane works too, but takes longer per brass) Cordless drill Socket big enough to hold brass in Stainless steel bowl I set up my MAP gas torch on really low. Flame about 3" long. Put stainless bowl under torch Put brass in cordless drill w. socket as holder Slowly turn brass in flame for about 8-10 seconds. Make sure ONLY the neck is in the flame. You can actually watch the anneal color change ring travel up the neck and shoulder. Once you see the color change at the bottom of the shoulder (where the body transitions to the shoulder angle), remove and drop into bowl to cool. Some people quench in water, I do not. I have used this method for years. Works great. Easy, quick too. Just takes a few seconds, and you have to do the work yourself. No mechanical device to do it for you. But a lot cheaper than an annealing machine. Then throw in the tumbler for an hour or so and it removes a lot of the soot from around the neck. You will still see the annealed area where the color changed slightly. If you anneal BEFORE you resize, you can resize next, then tumble and load. If you anneal AFTER you resize, the brass gets a little rough feeling afterwards, so a quick tumble will help smooth it back off before final loading. I annealed before I will size this brass to the new chambering to soften the neck and shoulder to make it easier to stretch the brass to the new shape.

    New 6.5 SLR Build

Happiness is a bowl full of annealed brass. Dies should be here Monday, so over Christmas break, I will be resizing, cleaning, and start loading for a 400 yard ladder test as soon as the rifle is ready.
  16. What color do you prefer for the new 6.5 SLR build? Stock is a Manners T2A in basic Coyote Tan. All metal will be Cerakoted Coyote Tan as well. Scope will remain black (because stripping a scope paint is a PITA). MultiCam: Desert MultiCam:

    Need AR advice from someone

This rifle now wears a different scope, but you get the drift. It is a true 1/4 MOA gun.

    New 6.5 SLR Build

I decided I will do the painting of the stock myself. I have done numerous other guns on mine, so why not this one? I am leaning towards either a MutiCam pattern, or a desert version of it. I will post up a poll to see what get the most votes. Also, just got confirmation the dies are in shipping and should be here Monday, and base/rings/level too. Just need the scope to ship at the beginning of January sometime. Here are a few teaser photos of some MultiCam and Desert MultiCam patterns to drool over. MultiCam: Desert MultiCam:

    Need AR advice from someone

A lot depends on intended use. Protection/throw in the truck gun? I would not want a $1K+ heavy varmint gun bouncing around all the time. That is why I have a basic Bushmaster carbine with an aluminum lower. It rides to remote sites with me all the time. Varmint/small game hunting/target? A good medium weight 20-24" match barrel would be good. But then you are getting up into the $1K++ range. I have two of these types. Medium game hunting? You need to step up to an AR10 type, with the .308 length cartridges. .308, .260, .243, 6.5 Creedmoor, .300 Whisper/Blackout, etc. Best of both worlds? Buy a good quality carbine and add a small scope or red dot (or open sights), and a separate varmint match barreled upper w. good scope and swap as needed.
