Let's hear it vehicle options for momma ?
Edge replied to Eagle mountain ranch's topic in The Campfire
1962 AMC Rambler Wagon Classic. Typical woman drivers should appreciate whatever car you allow them to use. This vehicle is indestructible. Weighs in at 3 metric tons, and will win any road or parking lot confrontation. Thus, safety and low insurance rates. Top speed 47mph, means fewer tickets. No AC means there will be no lollygagging. No CD player means she keeps her eyes and ears on the road. Plain ergonomics will keep her home, but roomy enough cargo space for her to go effortlessly from kitchen to grocery store and straight home to the kitchen again. Simplistic pushbutton transmission controls. D for drive, R for reverse. Hopefully the button pushing won't go to her head and she tries to use your TV remote. -
Due to the constant flooding, most homes in SE Texas and LA had the water heater in the attic. It would be 130'F+ some days up there, dark and dank. Lovely time. A pair of us would sometimes do 6 per day. Afterwards hit the bait camps for cold beer and speckled trout fishing. You ain't fished till you had gators steal your bait or eyeball you while submerged a few feet away.

But in that situation and you needed a drink, comes with a straw. Maybe with the supplied syringe you could draw out water. Either way, I got one.

the MSR worked great but I'm seeing a lot of versatility in the Sawyer Mini and is in my price range.

What's worse is when they tell you they are not expecting.

Correct. I was a sub for Lowe's mainly doing backup generators in the hurricane belt but did a lot of hot water heaters when it was slow. When we did gas heaters, by law could only turn the gas off, never back on or lite pilots. A few homes have exploded when gas was interrupted, turned back on and a pilot lite was missed, ooops. If it's been that long between heaters, make certain the design and placement are still up to code. And don't be too cheap buy a new pressure relief valve.

A quote that has stuck with me since childhood as one of dads hunting buddies left deer camp to fill his tag; "I go forth to lie and wait. If that fails, I simply wait and lie."

Tough way get your rocks off.On the farthest Eastern edge of 27 above the San Fransisco, dad rode a boulder over the side. He was shouldering a new Weatherby 7mag and Leopold scope. Many cracked ribs and a very used looking rifle later... Ouch! Cracked ribs are painful. Especially in unit 27 where we are always sucking wind trying to climb that stuff Funny now, but as dad slid down one of AZs deepest canyons, he managed to unshoulder the 7mm and hold it up like it was his only baby and heir.

Yup memorable hunt don't necessarily mean a fun hunt.

There's an apple orchard in the northern Bradshaw's. Go there.

This happened to me in 27 when I was about 12. The buck was nearly dead on the ground and maybe 100 yards ahead of me when some dental challenged hick shot him again. Suddenly half his clan was there screaming ownership and they looked desperate with nothing to lose. Was like a scene from Deliverance only I was much prettier than Ned Beatty. I went on to get a much nicer buck the following day.

Yes, just 250 years ago, Father Kino described the Santa Cruz R. as a "Wild and raging river, it's banks frot with game and jaguars." And this from a man that frequently walked from southern Mexico to California. Speaking of weather, a microburst is responsible for our outage. It knocked down power poles a couple blocks south, I sware it looked like a weak tornado here. I saw a vortex and watched the kennel roof go into orbit. Some folks a 1/4 mile away still without power. .

Stepped outside and was slapped in the face by a pair of converging Haboobs. Anyone else have the pleasure?
