Nitto and Toyo are the same company and probably very similar rubber compounds.

I went with 18x9" after market wheels with 35 x 12.50 Ridge grapplers.
-
I have Nitto Ridge Grapplers on my 2500. So far so good, but only 5k on tires.

I have owned quite a few rifles and I have never lapped a set of rings. I use Warne or Nightforce rings and have yet to have a scope slide in the rings.

How to get brass out of h&r single shot
HuntHarder replied to Presmyk's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I would try to bend down a piece just big enough to get some needle nose pliers on it. -
This hunt has turned into a tough hunt with High tag #'s and low success rates. I wouldn't beat yourself up over it, it happens from time to time and it's not like everyone else was tagging out and you guys couldn't. It is a tough hunt which was compounded dry weather and cold temps.

Crazy story Lance. Glad you got out without any harm to you or your family. As what was stated above. Know your target that you point your weapon at. If you can not identify the difference between a deer and an elk, this should be discussed prior to entering the field. Killing the wrong species should NEVER happen, especially by an Adult. I know the "feel good" part of me wants to give a novice hunter the benefit of the doubt and cut him some slack. Gross Negligence should not be handled with warning citation IMO. I will say that after the mistake was made, you (300rum) did a great job of immediately turning it in and letting Game and Fish handle the situation the way they felt necessary.

Your vet made a very a reckless shot, hopefully the WM threw the book at him. There is 0 excuse for shooting a deer during elk season.

Sanding down a B&C medalist stock
HuntHarder replied to no worries's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I am pretty positive it turns a dark gray or blackish color. I have sanded down the barrel channnel on mine and that is the color underneath the paint. -
As what has been eluded to above, It is hard to compare the 2 styles of hunting. Bowhunting gives you much longer seasons and generally the animals are considerably easier to locate during the time of year you are hunting them. When you get out on some of those rifle hunts with 1000 + tags, it can be hard to even locate a decent buck. I think after you have a few animals under your belt with a bow, you start realize that it really isn't as hard as most guys make it out to be. Now, finding a legit 110" buck, that is a challenge. Lots of hunters have never seen a 110" coues alive in front of them.

My wife’s southern Az buck
HuntHarder replied to azhunter85's topic in Muzzleloader hunting for Coues Deer
That's a dandy of a buck. Congrats on the success. -
Im with oz31P- I have no problem finding bucks on just about any hunt in there. From the low desert, to up on top off Wagner, deer seem to be on the rise.

I always love these questions. Most guys will say the long bow deer, but they are only lying to themselves. haha

I have had a Traeger for 3+ years, and they are great. They require little maintenance and very little attention while cooking. I can't really help you decide between the 3 different types, but the Traeger works well for me.

Thanks guys, there has been some interest but still no one committing yet. Figured I can not wear 2 packs at the same time, so I better get rid of one or I am verging on edge of being a gear hoarder. -
Chassis build finished .260
HuntHarder replied to azhuntnut's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Rifle looks great, I am really doing a great job of resisting a chassis rifle right now with all the black friday discounts. Nice looking rifle. -
I usually quarter, pack off the hill and then de-bone the meat in camp or at home. I think it is best to de-bone at home to cut down on the amount of dirt or hair that gets mixed in. I guess it is kind of hard to explain thru typing, but I look for the muscle seperations and try to get all the way down to the bone. I then, carve around the bone and the meet on rear quarters usually comes off in 1-3 major chunks. The front quarters are a little trickier and require more effort to get the meat off the scapula. It is similar to skinning the animal to remove the meat from the scapula. I grind up 80 % of all my meat personally. The only steaks I make are back straps and tender loins. I make as many roasts as I feel at the time and the rest goes into the grind pile. I have de-boned an animal with the quarters still attached, but I think it greatly increases the odds of getting hair and dirt all in meat. On javelina I will use this method because they are so small and I can usually hang them from a tree nearby and the meat stays pretty clean.
