8 is still hot in pockets. When a cow starts to go into heat that pocket gets wound up and makes a fun day. Starting to hear more bugles later in the morning so peak rut just about in. Big bulls moving in on herds and taking over for the smaller bulls. Saw someone's blood trail this morning on my morning run in 11m. Hope they find it!

Unit 8 on fire, found and viewed 7 different rutting bulls, multiple bugles. I live in 11m and all night long bugles outside the house windows.

Lots of bugles and called this bull from cows opening evening for my son. His first archery bull!

Will look for him in September

We have hunted both public and private. Have stretched a lot of fence for the privilege of hunting some of the private that we have. Either way I get to be with my children doing something we love, building memories and filling the freezer.

This is number 11 OTC for us and I have had 3 archery bull tags filled. We have truly been blessed over the years!!! Oldest son has an early archery bull tag this year also so will get to chase bugles in September.

Looks like another Over the Counter tag for me! Son drew an archery bull tag so will be in to bugling bulls!

We love these tags any year we do not draw one! Here are our OTC elk from 2014-2018 (2018 were killed this morning) Anyone else like these tags??

Yes on Private land access but also hunt non-private river bottom.

Here are our over the counter elk from 2014-2018. Any year we do not draw a tag we go shoot one or two. As of today we have 8 OTC elk and 3 archery bulls with my son having an archery bull tag for this year. We are truly blessed!

Made the final adjustments to the remi 700 for the Start of our hunt on Saturday. Hope they are starting to rut around alittle. First time December Coues here we come. December is a long time to wait.

24a Globe area. We have some good spots to start our seven day hunt. Hopefully the mature bucks are moving around a little more. Hopefully we will have pics to post. I will have to help my 16 year old hold off on the small ones. Thanks for the well wishes.

Late archery are some tough hunts but doable if u put in the time. It will only make it a little tougher for the rut hunts to be drawn but a better rate of hunters in the field during those hunts. Wish it were a perfect situation but it is not. Still love it!

Not new to hunting but never hunted coues in December. Have always hunted rutting mulies with a bow during December. Son and I have drawn December rifle tag, have vortex and ziess glasses, not new to glassing. Have spotted some good bucks during other hunts. Question: Does the rut usually get going by end of December? or is it January on the norm. I understand rut can come early or late just looking for the norm around Globe Miami area. Really looking forward to the hunt and the coues way.

Great thanks for the help. We are excited for the experience and the time spent with my oldest boy. I did not realize how long it takes to get to december for these hunts. Have had to stay busy helping friends with elk hunts to satisfy, to a point, the urge.
