Looking for recommendations on a good outfitter tent with a stove. Sold my trailer in lieu of a place up north but still need something cozy for hunting trips. I’m thinking 14x16 or so.
davis looks solid. Any other thoughts? I want to do a floor to keep critters out. What are you guys running floor wise? Some are saying it’s not the way to go
thx

The full moon sucked. We hunted the west side. I thought the experience was awful. So much pressure and road hunters and hunters in general everywhere. I’ve usually hunted the east side. Less deer but less hunters too. It’s more intimate and less of a rat race.
im going to shift gears and move away from the Kaibab. The late hunts are probably better with less tags but 375 guys racing around with multiple trucks on a ridge sucks.

Excellent condition Original owner. Lightly used….maybe a few times per year. Everything works as it should. No plumbing or roof leaks. Tanks are perfect (no odors whatsoever). New tires in 2020, new group 27 battery in 2020. Trailer has a queen bed with new aftermarket mattress and two bunk beds. The table can be setup as another full size bed. Flatscreen TV. Anderson weight distribution hitch included. Centralized AC and heat. Heat can run on battery and propane. Ac requires power or generators. Fridge can run on propane or power. Water heater runs on power or propane. One slide out works perfect. Really opens up the floor plan. Awning is perfect no rips or tears.
Trailer has been parked in pristine covered parking since day 1. I actually pay for two spots so it stays in shade 24x7.
We made lots of great memories but we are going in a different direction as our kids get older
$20,750. obo

Data to support those claims would be welcome. Without data, regardless what position you have it’s all bs

If you don’t see what you want keep covering ground. And when you find it ……when the hunt comes it’ll be gone. But at least you’ll have confidence in your system and abilities and keep covering ground

Tragedy has struck the Heffelfinger household as we have come up empty-handed with no deer tags this year. None. As in, you can’t go deer hunting this year at all. Maybe a year from now. I spent almost a quarter of a century as a regional game biologist trying to maximize hunting opportunity so things like this wouldn’t happen to families who just wanted to hunt together. Our application this year included my dad (88 yrs), myself, and two sons (18 & 24 yrs). We’re not looking for trophies, just some quality 3-generation time spent on a hill somewhere glassing for deer and sharing the camaraderie of a simple deer hunt. When guides and outfitters petition the Game and Fish commission for less overall opportunity so their clients have a chance to find more mature bucks, it just doesn’t resonate very well with me. I won’t be deer hunting this year with my dad and sons. When people ask the game and fish department to manage for a higher hunt success and higher buck to doe ratios and an older age class of bucks, that comes at a cost. That cost is borne by the average hunter who just wants to get out with family and friends and spend some time at camp and enjoy a deer hunt. If you live in a state with the opportunity to hunt deer every year, don’t take that for granted.
Who’s this guy and why would anyone give a shoot what he says or thinks? LOL

I wasn’t joking. Road hunting has a right and wrong technique to it.

Drinking beer in a $75000 lifted diesel truck with a $8000 custom rifle and $5000 BTX, mastering the stealthy “dude deer…..slow down I’ll jump out but keep going down the road” technique.

I didn’t mean to sound too crass. Save more. Borrow from family. Go hunt. Good luck.

Only a loser will drop their only grand on a bino upgrade. When you save up ten grand let’s talk. For now what you have is perfectly fine. Take 500 and invest it. Save 500 for emergency
your biggest asset is your youth not your glass. Cover ground. Don’t try and keep up with the Jones. You can’t as a student.
