Hi CWT members. I am considering applying for one of the one horn ram hunts. I qualify, and am sure odds of drawing are better than the general hunts. Of course , I have no idea what the odds are, but I’m guessing pioneer licenses are a lot less than general hunt licenses. What I’m wandering is how many one horned rams are out there? Needle in proverbial haystack? I got my desert sheep 15 years ago and looked over 56 Rams and never saw one half broken off. For you guys who have been on a lot of sheep hunts, how common is it for a ram to have half of a horn on one side? Any help on this? I don’t have any issue with A ram not being a trophy.

Help me out…maybe I’m naive, but abuse it how?.

FS- Savage 24v over under break action .223 on top, 20 ga on bottom. I bought this back when you could use either a rifle or shotgun for turkey in Az. I missed a good number of turkeys when the gun was set to the wrong barrel, LOL. $400.

Well, I decided to avoid the season opening crowd, and went out to 20c to my favorite spot today. Spent a couple hours glassing..nothing. Started getting windy so I headed down into a sheltered area where I have seen them crossing through in past hunts. Less than 10 minutes after setting up, I heard footsteps in the leaves-lots of cottonwoods around, and 5 came through. I took a shot at the last one at 20 yards and my hunt was over. Got to have an easy hunt once in awhile.

Yeah…let’s hire Herb back. Dilly is too emotional
