That's a new one to me. Looks messy. Is there a benefit to the shave method?

2nd Amendment.....what is it?
Tropicalmulch replied to Non-Typical Solutions's topic in The Campfire
I believe (according to the 2nd amendment) that as a law abiding citizen I should be able to purchase any firearm or munition I wish. As long as I can pay for it....im a law abiding citizen (and withh modern times no signs of mental illness)...what reason does anyone have to tell me I can't have an Abrahams parked in my driveway. But that's not how it is. You have to prove that you're innocent and jump through hoops to get this (im fat now, I don't jump) i thought it was supposed to be innocent until proven guilty. -

Wow that's a good deal wish I needed another project

If she's comfortable shooting lefty and left eye dominate I'd run with that. I know, as previous posters have commented that people can learn to shoot righty or lefty or upside down and backwards. ) of it was me in your situation and I had the finances I'd get what comes most natural to her to shoot. Good luck on the draw and the hunt.

That sounds like a predicament! Is she right handed? And left eye dominate? What I might try is borrowing a leftie rifle and let her try it to see if it's more comfortable for her to shoot and operate. If she's both left eye and left handed I would think that Jr lefty 7mm 08 might be a good way to go. Just my 2 cents

I have some brass for whoever wants it. There's some (250 pieces or so) 38 split, some 40 s&w, some .556 nato,6.5x55,.308 win,.270 win,.243 win, and .357 mag. Not a ton of each just a box or two. I also have some (about 200) rounds of old 30-06 ammo that's loaded about 60 of the 06 rounds are Frankford arsenal 1956 international match rounds. Make an offer on the 06 stuff the brass is free. Located in West tucson

Edit to op the 30-06 round count is closer to 100 rounds don't know how I got that confused but the Frankford arsenal round count is accurate at 60 -

So yes your barrel can be threaded to a 5/8-24 . And kind of what I'm getting at is if a brake manufacturer makes a brake for a .284 bullet diameter, the internal thread That is machined into that brake should be safe to put on any rife shooting a .284 diameter bullet. So if you find a brake that's designed for a .284 diameter bullet and the internal thread is 5/8-24 that will work but the outside diameter of the brake will be larger then your barrel and will need to be blended in order to look correct. If a manufacturer makes the same brake with a 9/16-20 thread (for example) then the outside diameter of that brake may be closer or the same diameter of your barrel. (Providing a different look) I don't know if a brake designed for a .284 that has a 9/16 thread exists or not. But I would think you be ok to even go down to a 1/2-32 thread in a .750 diameter brake -

Find the appropriate brake then cut the same the ads on the barrel as the brake has -

Cool sounds like he's got his priorities in order!

I'm unfamiliar with those units as well but stick with it. Those pigs are out there somewhere. My son is still trying to fill his tag too. Best of luck to you though hope you guys see some action
-
Im curious about this too. Almost tried it this year

I think it does matter because basically if and I stress "if" (because I don't know all the details) arizona gives up our wildlife for the cost of the "round up" that's not a fair deal in my eyes. I get the pay it forward mentality (I don't know the details of the acquisition of the Yellowstone elk. And if we got them for the cost of a round up, by all means I agree its time for us to return the favor) but I think this is different then say...a guy that wants to go hunt and I say you get a license and tag I'll loan you a gun and take you out. Arizona traded turkeys for new Mexico antelope. I'm all in favor of that. The way I see it that's a fair deal and I've never hunted turkey in my life.as far as bragging rights, I could care less about them. Arizona has quality elk and I'd like to go hunt those elk every year, but our herds and our habitat doesn't support that demand (for everyone who wants to hunt elk every year to do so). Our elk are valuable and while I don't think the numbers that got transplanted are going to be devastating to our elk herd I hope we got some conservation $ out of it that's all I'm saying.

I think trading and selling our wildlife is all we'll and good as long as "we" (our herds and residents of Arizona) benefit from the trade or sale as well as the purchaser. In the article posted by tropyhseeker it states that west Virginia agencies covered the costs of the capture. Admittedly I scanned through the article, but my question would be what else did arizona get from the transaction? Something I hope

That's an awesome day for sure. Great job. I'll bet Josh is thinking real hard about picking up a lion tag!

Wow great job. Nice shooting and a very cool video

My question is what is the rectangular thing in the back of that kids brain

Who is taking the kids out to chase pigs this weekend?
Tropicalmulch replied to rossislider's topic in Youth Hunters
The boy passed on a 25 to 30 pounder (my on the hoof guess) at 30 yards. Pretty impressive for a young Hunter if you ask me. At his age I woulda shot. The funny part is an hour later he asked do you think we can find that pig again? -
Very cool congratulations.
