    and

So did the one on 67th and olive, I'd buy them hit the fields just west of there, we ended up buying a house in 82 on the property I shot doves at.
  3. There in there, we usually see them on the southeast side of the unit around sycamore canyon usually right on the edges, we have seen them as high whitehorse lake but not often. also seen them as far west government canyon, Saw a small drop tine a few years back while archery hunting elk up that way. if it was me hunting I would hang out around sycamore canyon look out and west along those canyons south of J.d. dang one good places to start is head to the sycamore canyon look out places. just after you leave the pines a few miles before the end of the road, there is a sharp turn south(left) small valley on the east side that goes into the canyon. but get out and go on the west side that drops into the fingers of the canyon . lots of muleys in there also so be very sure what your shooting. good glassing in that area also.

    Nails in tires 504 rd

That is F'd up, back in the day they used to hit 12 a west and east pretty hard but mainly for the loggers when logging dropped then Earths 1st went after the hunters. I hadnt heard that happening in a long time. especially south of the north rim. Like addicted said its criminal and extremely dangerous to anyone in a vehicle.

Thoughts on use of point guard

With all good intentions someone will find a legal way. Its human nature. However I believe G&F knew this from the very beginning thats why they only allow you to use it ONCE per species. https://www.azgfd.com/hunting/pointguard/
  8. Yup definitely the best thread. the pictures are fantastic. good luck

Never thought i would turn this tag back in

I dont know man My mind doesnt work like that, I dont use other people to find stuff for me or really listen to what they say. I usually do the best I can in the situation giving to me. But then again I can care less about records. I just like to hunt and if I decide to pass something up so be it. still going to give it 100%. Just waiting 26 years on something then not doing it when you have the opportunity blows my mind. you never know what the future entails, you could get hit by a bus tomorrow. One of my buddies is the same way as you I've seen him pass tags up for work or he doesnt see anything worth hunting, however he hasnt had to wait 26 years for his tag he gets drawn a bit more than most. BTW I didnt call you crazy, I called you a high maintenance chick its cool you donated your tag though rather than sitting on it.

Never thought i would turn this tag back in

You know a deer or elk tag I can see, a lope tag or sheep tag I have a hard time understanding it especially after a 26 year wait and never hunted lopes like you said. down year or not there is still lopes to be had that are out there. you havent seen but a few samples of the lopes and your calling it quits already. as far as me scouting why? I dont have a tag so what would be the point.

Never thought i would turn this tag back in

A few guys? in UNIT 10??????? so there are 4 guys (few=3 + you =4) you talked to turning in there lope tags? I am going call 100% bullshit on that. I dont know maybe your right, if I waited 27 for a lope tag maybe I would turn it in too.

Never thought i would turn this tag back in

This posts blows my mind, you wait 26 years for a lope tag, your "NEW" to lope hunting and you "THINK" you can tell the difference between a 78" and 80" lope? Dude your one of those High Maintenance chicks aren't you

    6a/5bs Archery Deer

no body can help you with the shot, but finding them you have a week your hunting you said. only a blind man couldnt find a deer in that unit in a weeks time. you could drive down the roads and see deer up there. Waste a day driving roads at 1st light to dusk, down in the scrubs and in the pines. I prefer scrub oaks mixed in with a few pines in 6a. then waste a day find a canyon with scrubs and pines mixed and walk the edges. That way you'll have a starting place to walk around. driving around after dark also. dont feel bad about not killing something with a bow, ive only got a few muleys gotten more meat deer( coues) with a bow than a muley with a bow in 30+ years 2 reasons I am a piss poor shot with a bow and I am extremely picky. I have more fun chasing them with my kids than actually shooting one. Now that I can actually shoot decent with by bow and my daughter got me back into it 10 years ago. My daughters away 1st season in 8 years we are not archery deer hunting together. And when she was hunting I never would shoot at one I always let her. I was tempted to go up today. but said no. after the holiday I might take a ride up north, but I also got a rifle tag for the unit I hunt and she might be home for a few days during that hunt so I am kinda holding out until she gets her official orders. Personally in 6a if you wanna see deer I would hunt the road that parallels i-17 start at the east side of the sedona turnoff goes east a bit then a dirt road goes north and that road takes you right up to stoneman lake road. 4x4 is best but a 2 wheel drive with clearance and decent tires will work. bucks all over both sides once you climb tot he top. big canyon on the east side of that dirt road. There generally small to medium sized. seen a few 5x5s in there but not close to heavy. if bears still open get a tag lots of those in that canyon area.

Muleys will water all day long if there not bothered or alot of people running around. Muleys also have a huge range and so while you might not see them at this or that tank, they have a water source somewhere. at a seminair a ton of years ago the guy was saying that north rim and desert mulies can go 7-10 days with out water. He also said that they have a huge range and when they get bothered you may never see them at the water hole your sitting at. buddy and I have sat at water tanks for 24 hours straight before and this one particular buck never came in to the two water tanks we were sitting at during hunting season. before the season that f'r was there every morning and evening and sometimes middle of day. That was in the Flats in on the north side of 13a just south of cane beds.
  17. Your pics are awsum. sucks about the flat,We always got flats up on the north rim G&F dude back in the 80's gave wife and I a ride to st george and back when we was hunting 13a one year, I got one flat and on the way to go get it fixed I got another, just lucky enough that he happened to be driving down the road. told me to always carry 2 spares up there.., funny didnt have flats for a few years after that, then one day in 12a west we got a flat. wife was like go to town and get it fixed. figured I had one extra spare so would keep hunting. wrong got another flat about 3 hours later heading to indian hollow. that drive up to ferdonia was Quiet ;). Bad part is if your out on the weekdays there is hardly anyone on some of those roads for days. weekends are that bad. and the anti hunters and anti loggers used to spike the roads back then. Good luck

Everyone had a good time even those that didn't fish and just came up to say hi and meet people. the cooler months are always the best maybe the 2nd dove season?

    1.5 Day Offshore Trip

No its a mackerel Shark, we were after a tiger shark from what the islander told us they saw. so we (the guy behind my sister) and I went and set bouyes for it. That building behind them is the 1st Shark and Turtle research lab. I was told by them in the world but I dont know for sure. the island is chi chi jima boinin island aka ogasawari islands Japan. the US Owned it then turned it back over to Japan. I was born there in 1962( only 2 american kids were born on that island imagine that I was once of them lol. Dad was staitioned there for 2 or 3 years. he sent me and my sister back in 1976 for a month so I could see the place I was born before he retired after 27 years cause chances are I would never see it again. George Bush was shot down on that island in WWII, we stored nukes on that Island that the Japanese and may many others never knew about until the story broke about 15-18 years ago. Dad called me up and said turn on the news quick and he hung up. funny thing dad was only one of maybe a dozen US military personal on that island at that time. Dad knew all the tunnels but never said if he knew that nukes were there. The original Islanders grand kids were family friends of my Parents and still keep in touch with my mom too this day. wanna talk about some history and stories right there its freaking wild, ive listened to them. I stayed with them for a month when I was back there. Willie Savory cool older guy. he would take me out on his outrigger canoe fishing with handlines. if you ever get a chance to fish handlines in crystal clear water down to 100-400 feet its a hoot. we usually fished off the wreckage of US and Japanese Warships. That island is also the place were the giant squids are.(some trench is really close) its also the largest breading ground for hammer heads and tiger sharks and sea turtles, that mackerel shark about was the 1st one caught in that area. one thing they taugh be was the smaller the dorsal fine on a shark the more aggressive it is. we and the japanese on that island swam with the baby hammer head sharks literally hundred of them from 1 foot-3 foot long. it was pretty wild but if you wanted to go into the ocean for a swim you had to swim with them.the water was 1-5 feet deep out about 1/4 mile white sandy beached. hence the reason we went after that one shark because it got close to the beach.
