Haircut for a Buck or is it a Buck for a Haircut?
eddielasvegas replied to Outdoor Writer's topic in The Campfire
At least he (assuming he identified as a he that day) was smart enough to use the door when he left. Leaving through the window could have been dangerous. Eddie -
Certainly the best post on here I've read all year and welcome back!!!!!! CA will be a 3rd world country in no time. Here's all the proof you need: https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2020-09-30/california-task-force-reparations-slavery-gavin-newsom-shirley-weber I'm glad you got out and that your wife had the good sense to open her eyes. Field & Stream and Outdoor Life Maybe No longer
eddielasvegas replied to Outdoor Writer's topic in The Campfire
Sadness to say the least, but times they are a changin'. Used to read both religiously back in the late 60's and 70's when I was a young lad. Eddie -
Congrats Tessa and awesome bull. Eddie

Perfect and ballpark was all I was looking for. Asking to make sure my 45-70 would do the deed and it will at < ~100 yards. Thanks.

What distance did you take your first shot? Eddie

Congrats and what a great story and beautiful bison. Eddie

Yes, HorseHunter I figured a few here would get my reference. I'm glad you did. Top 3 movie of all time in my book. Hahaha My Rights As An American. I still say those 8 months are pretty durn nice. Of course, I moved here from Boston so maybe that explains it. 🤣 Eddie

Different weather for sure. Kiss humidity goodbye and if you can get past the four months of OVEN season, you get 8 months of our other season known as PERFECT. 😀 I used to ski at Wintergreen a long, long time ago. Raised in Va. Beach, but left in the late 80's. Lots of knowledgeable, helpful and friendly (mostly; it is the Interweb after all) people here. Eddie

Welcome to AZ! It is my privilege to extend a laurel and hearty handshake to you, our newest member of CWT. Coues Deer (Whitetail's little cousin) are what is hunted here. Along with Elk and other animals I'm sure other members will fill you in on. What part of VA? Eddie

Great, great story and congrats. Thumps up to your support crew too. Eddie

And don't forget you have to pay return shipping if they don't fit. Had to do that today for a camofire return and me thinks I don't like it very much when most returns are free on AMZN. Eddie

Nice job Pete and congrats BIG D. Eddie

Congrats and that is one impressive bull. Eddie

Congrats and excellent shot. Did you use the black highlighting and the world's longest paragraph, or did the forum software do it for you? Eddie

Text/call inbound when the hour is a bit more respectable. RE: 1006 Eddie

Four Crew Members Overdose on Shogun this morning. Trip Cancelled.

4 at once? Does that seems possible if they were all drug users? If so, that certainly should give the fishing paying public the warm and fuzzies to charter a boat. The vid says the captain left on a stretcher. Durn. And the vid says all were given Narcan and that brought them all back. Such a blessing that they all lived to use another day. Eddie -
Thanks for your reply and I must be hearing things in the other vid. Or my memory is gone. I vote for the latter. Eddie

Good story and congrats to all. I hear the din of traffic in the first two vids. How close was the nearest road? Eddie

Vortex's Lifetime Transferable Warranty Is The Real Deal...
eddielasvegas posted a topic in The Campfire
Hello All, Just wanted to give Vortex a shout out and BIG thank you. I bought a pair of Kaibab 15x56 binos from a forum member about 18 months ago. They served me well until a few weeks ago when the focus knob stopped working. I sent them in as instructed on the Vortex web site and after 3+ weeks still had not got them back and I'm leaving Friday for a scouting trip. I sent their CS an email late Thursday night simply asking for an update on when they might be returned given my upcoming trip. Well, today via UPS Next Day Air, I received a brand new pair of Kaibab 18x56 binos. I mean brand spanking new. Pretty durn awesome. A HUGE thanks to Vortex and Kathy K. for my excellent customer service. Eddie -
Congrats and I'll bet that elk stew is going to taste great!!!! Eddie

Taste test between Medaglia D'Oro and Mount Hagen is complete. Testers were my daughter (21 years old ) and me (age unknown). Followed directions for each and added 1/2 & 1/2 and sugar, which is how I drink my coffee. Our totally unscientific, yet completely unbiased opinion is Medaglia D'Oro is the better coffee. More flavor and body and less like most instant coffees. The Mount Hagen is not bad in the least but is like every other instant coffee....flat with not a lot of flavor. The Medaglia D'Oro is a step or two up so that'll be going with me in a few weeks and the french press will be staying home. Eddie

Remarkable footage. Thanks for posting. Eddie

I bought a pair after all that jive talk about BM and stopping bullets. I know Merrel makes a good product, which is why I decided to give them a try. Thanks OP. Eddie
