I can assure you the road access they allowed us was utilized to the fullest.

I feel kinda bad because I could have made it a lot more interesting and more updates here. But, I hadn’t seen that other hunter. I wasn’t sure how he was doing, I knew we were doing good and I didn’t really want him to catch wind and come over and hunt. It’s a big area but at the same time it wasn’t. As far the size goes, we had our chance at an over book Ram on the 5th day. I had a lot of help, all I really did was organize it and I got all the proper permits for us. I tried to get a jimmy johns size group but it ended up being my dad and I, along with 1-3 other dudes at a time. Wish2hunt, Len, Dave, Donnie, whom I have never met, went way out of their way to help us. And my 2 friends Justin and Zack also came a few days. this is what it looked like where I was glassing from all day, almost everyday. looking north the pics make it look smaller and not steep, but its some steep rugged stuff.

Was there a meteor shower the second weekend of December

My friend Zack glassed it up the night before and we watched them till dark. We spread out and Zack found them again. We knew he wasn’t all that big but he looked mature enough. He had no upper teeth left. People have asked why didn’t see them scouting but found them hunting. I didn’t have access to the non wilderness roads they let you drive there until late November. I was having to walk many extra miles and the sheep bed early here and get up late. I think the heat also wasn’t helping me. Once we started getting out early and staying till last light we started seeing them.

wanted one of them red horns but never saw any. Saw a few that were orange. I guess you gotta be in the other mountain range for those.

Thanks to member cmiller I got the contact information early on to get access to the bombing range, which makes it easier to get to the north part of the unit. Was able to get in there the weekend before the hunt and the second weekend. We didn’t see any rams the first weekend but the second weekend we saw 6.

Those are just some other rams we saw. We saw rams everyday except one. Between our group we saw 9 rams one day. Mostly all about the same size 150s. That one in the video was kinda cool looking we just thought he was too thin/young
