great job... man that looks cold. What clothing gear do you use to stay warm?

Thanks for all the replies. I ordered 2 packs of the Reapers for January, I will also have WacEm's in my quiver... I am curious what Reapers will do...if I get the opportunity (assuming I can get them to tune and fly well).

I have done about 25 skulls... (between my kids and mine...deer and javi)...Its so simple. I recently began to hydo dip with the help of youtube... Start by trying to get as meat off as possible when skinning it. Do this ASAP after then kill.... its easier when fresh.... It not, freeze it....magits appear faster than you think. I use an old menudo pot. Fill it up with water and add some Dawn dish soap (a good squirt). Place the head in the pot and let it boil (my barbecue grill has a side burner). I check it every couple hours to add more water. I have learned to let boil for about 4 hours, then I use a long screw driver and "scramble the brains" , remove the eye balls with needle nose and any large chunks of meat....then boil for another hour..... Around the 5 hour mark remove and use the water hose with a high pressure nozzle and spray off the remaining meat. Some scraping will be required, I have taken the heads to a manual car wash and the high pressure water sprayer takes off all meat in a jiffy. The antlers stay on and lose no color during the boiling process, I have never cracked a skull but I have had a few teeth fall out. I just super glue them back in. Be careful the nose bones can break... But also glue them back if they do I go to Sally's Beauty Supply and buy the concentrated peroxide (its about 5 bucks) and brush it on, DO NOT to get any on the antlers....peroxide will bleach the antlers , early on I used to fill a bowl up with 2% peroxide and soak the head, but the base of the antlers usually got bleached. Those days are gone forever with the peroxide paste. It's really simple, the worst part is the clean up, but I learned to dump the remaining water and meat down the sewer access (unless the garbage is being picked up soon then I dump into a bag and throw it all away).

get a large pot and boil it. go to sally's and get concentrated peroxide (its like 5 bucks) and bush it on....turns the skull really white. I dump the pot "leftovers" in the sewer access in my yards.

My son Jake got his third coues last evening. He was tired and beat up from coues country... he missed a buck on Saturday, he was sad and down but he hung in there and like hunting can, it turned around in a minute. We found this buck around 3 but lost him while moving to a shooting position... about 4:30 he showed back up right where we lost him.... if hunting these magical deer has taught me anything... if they disappear they usually are right where you lost seen them... awkward angle but he connected on his third shot.

very nice looking buck. that had to be a proud moment!

The winch worked like a champ. Pulled my truck right out. A good investment. I had to go with the receiver hitch plate.... Need to work on the wiring, luckily my buddy had a deep cycle battery. The tow truck driver wanted $200 an hour (yard out / yard in)..... Winch, receiver place, shackles and tow strap.... <$500.... There are some great fellow hunters, complete strangers stopped and helped me, they got muddy and also got stuck.... Can't wait to return the favor with the wench

Breaking down camp and the ride home today after a good nights sleep was a blast, Jake was in a great mood.... special times. Best part was when we where driving out saw a rancher we seen the first day (great person) and he said " I can tell by the smile you got one young man".....

I was listening to the game and it was ugly, then the game got closer.... I then glassed a buck for my nephew to shoot and he did... glad I missed the end. Cats had a rough season with injuries....ASU deserved to win, there will be no astrik by the score... would have like to seen the game played with a health Anu. Wonder what Herbstreet thinks about his prediction now for the 4 playoff teams?

stud buck! Chandler has his chance... it was meant to be yours -
A buddy and I had a great hunt in New Mexico. We were fortunate to take 2 great bucks that died within 15 yds of each other. (2) 380 yd shots within 1 second of each other put them on the ground....grueling pack in and out.... The shots were at 3PM, we got one de-boned deer to the truck after 10PM... we got to do it all over again the next day...still took over 5 hours....

IMO Ronda was too cocky and full of herself. Begin to think your better than everybody and you underestimate and lose.

Based on how you stated you use it.... I would say a Garmin GPS watch. I absolutely love mine and it's the best piece of hunting equipment I have. Simple, accurate and charges quickly with a usb. I have another GPS I very nice one (Rhino 500 series) ... But don't use it. The GPS watch and iPhone with Google Earth is all I need.

makes me want to buy it and I don't even need it...

Good story, good friend, good times, enjoy it. Never know when you may never hunt again
