That's sad. I really enjoyed your previous post about the nest of babies. -
Glad it was a good one and you were able to spend it with family!

Increadible fish! Sounds like a great day.

I just hope that next time we have one of these conversations I am smart enough to keep my mouth shut instead of saying something like, "pull the nail already". Keeping my mouth shut has never been a strong suit of mine.

The bull has a decent bottom and good thirds. Hard to see the top end, but with as dry as the Eastern units are, we may see a lot of good bulls with weak top ends.

My wife watched it and had no reaction. She just doesn't get it.

Oh a good scratch...I love that last picture.

Just a reference to an old joke...probably not appropriate for a public forum. Where might I find a "blue pigeon"

I love this type of story. Just shows there is room for class in the business of professional sports. I bet they also end up profiting from this. http://espn.go.com/mlb/draft/2013/story/_/id/9356727/arizona-diamondbacks-draft-paralyzed-player-34th-round

The pools on Oak Creek are usually full of put and take trout this time of year. Great place to spend some time with kids. The crowds may thin a bit as you move up the canyon.

Let me clarify my post. We have been seeing a lot more mule deer in the last year, but the numbers are still pretty low compared to 15-20 years ago. By no means do I think they have had a major recovery, but am hoping for one. Foes are being found in areas that "never" have held coues.

I can't wait for the season to start!

Just get a blue pigeon...problem will be solved.

Yesterday evening I had a meeting in Tucson. We needed some paint from wal-mart so I ordered it before the meeting and stopped by to pick it up afterward, about 8:00. This was the Wal-mart at Kino and I-10. As I pulled into the parking lot I was surprised by the amount of vehicles. I went in to get the paint and could not believe what I saw...it looked like black Friday. The shelves were being cleaned off, the isles were stacked full of palleted goods which were being looaded into carts as fast as they were dropped. I grabbed my paint and headed to the register. Most registers were open, but the lines were increadibly long...I was in one of the express lanes with 57 people in front of me! 40 minutes later I made it to the register. The cashier was very friendly but also stressed out from the crowds. I asked her if this was a typical Monday night; her answer floored me: She said it is the first Monday of the month and the government support checks come in. Most of the customers live in Mexico and have a P.O. Box in Tucson to get their checks. (This Wal-mart is close to the main Tucson post office) They come North on the first Monday, spend their check, and go home. In the parking lot I took a close look at license plates, sure enough, about 4 out of every 5 was from Sonora. This is your tax dollars at work. Essentially 40% of this money is borrowed from China and given to Mexico, while we are cutting essential services of our own people. Wake up America!
