If you are going to be in your vehicle, get a weboost cell booster. There is "almost" no place in Az that I cannot get at least enough signal to text. Usually I have enough to email and access data.

I've heard of this "tag soup". Seems to be staple at some tables. I may try it someday, but for now I will stick with good ol elk. Tasty, tasty elk.... C'mon over for a bbq Lee... leave the soup at home, we have plenty of side dishes already...lol

My dad found this a few years back. I just stumbled across the picture while doing some file cleaning. Would have been nice to find him before the lions did... Can you guess what he measured?

Get good gear. Get out in it and find a nice dry tree to sit under. Wait for the breaks in the rain and get on em. My favorite times have been in the rain.

FINALLY. After much running around finding nothing but HUGE trophy class bulls every day( it IS 4b after all), we finally found some cows. Tuesday morning we went to my super secret spot and sat down on the east side of a small meadow. Wind was good, temp was good, light rain off and on. Perfect. I called a little bit and had a young 5x5 bull streak across the meadow straight to us. Played with him for a few minutes when a large 6x6 bull with 8 cows came in from across the meadow. Coaxed them closer and Nephew picked a small cow and put a perfect 20 yd shot into its side quartering away. For his first hunt he did an excellent job. Didn't screw up on anything. lol The damage from the Montec CS braodheads was amazing. Straight up carnage. I have never seen anything like it. I shoot the regular Montecs which have been great, but this was just....awesome. I think it was due to the quartering away angle, but DANG. There was no blood "trail"...it was a blood SLICK. for 60 yds nothing but a red carpet. Young man did a good job hanging in there and getting it done. It was "just a cow", but the hunt was the same. Had he a bull tag we would have been done on day one... figures.

My dad is old school and it is what he wants. Going on his 358 win.

I have multiple ARs in several different calibers. After many years and many scope changes most have low magnification scopes. 1x6, 2x7, and one 3x9 for "long range". I have one with an eotech and a 3x magnifier. Pretty much my go to coyote gun for the desert. Covers just about every scenario. Definitely recommend the magnifier on a flip up mount if you go red dot or holographic.

I spend a LOT of days hunting, but I am far from "hard core". In my old age I have grown quite fond of being "comfortable" with my trailer and other modern niceties. The collateral damage to having the comfort is that I "have" to take the kids with me most of the time and I "get" to have the wife go as well. More often than not though she stays at home though. As long as I take one of the kids she doesn't care if I am gone the entire year...... Once I get out in the field I do pride myself on doing things "right". I try to make the hunt enjoyable for everyone. For me, killing an animal is second in importance to enjoying the experience.

I told a story a year or so ago where I helped my buddy track his first elk for just over 6 miles. We were certain he winged it. After found it was confirmed to be a boiler room shot. This was a cow rifle hunt. Conversely, Every bull elk I have been involved in taking has been shot with a bow with the furthest one traveling about a quarter mile. I sometimes wonder if the shock of the bullet/gun gets their adrenaline going a bit more.

no joy on cows this weekend. called in many bulls but couldn't find a single cow. heading back next week.

4b is on FIRE....wait. not this year for once. Worked 3 bulls this morning and one hunter. Bugling was sparse but pretty good for the first couple hours of light once we found the active boys. Unfortunately none of them had cows. The hunter may have but that is a different issue.....

WIIIIIIIINDY! Friends that live up here say it just started today. Of course. Elk are not going crazy around camp, but they are still talking.

Thank you for admitting you are dumb as a box of rocks. Admitting you have a problem is the first step. Atta kid. Now learn how to read and comprehend and you will be half way to being a useful idiot. P.s. please learn the meaning of the word "literally". Actually, please learn ANYTHING. And because you ride the short bus, I will explain this in small words so you won't need help. As others have pointed out, you are STUPID because you are throwing a second grade hissy fit over statements CLEARLY made in jest. You have PROVEN me correct. There, no big words to make you cry from lack of a vocabulary But you are still stuck in your ignorance. Nothing we can do about that We can explain it to you, but we cannot understand it for you. -

Good to see your ebt card came in so you could pay your internet bill. You go through so much effort yet accomplish so little. Do us all a favor and Google how to argue effectively. Your outdated and immature "insults"just make you look stupid. Sadly, you are too stupid to know it. -
