Bear rug prices !!!!! Need help please

$1000-1500 is probably average for a quality rug. Find someone reputable. It's not worth saving a little bit of money to have your hide ruined or take 4+ years to get it back, ugly mount or worse never see it again.

    Coues deer

I have never seen the lack of water affect deer much but I've also never seen Elk effected by drought as bad as this year. It really surprised me.. I'm sure I got affect and effect wrong

    Coues deer

Deer are all but finished by middle to the end of August even if they stay in velvet the rest of Sept. I rarely see much growth in Sept. If we get late rains the grass doesn't start to grow until 2-4 weeks after the good rains, which puts the deer almost finished before good grass shows up. My .02

Sure is nice to see the deer were not affected nearly as bad as the elk, for a while I was a bit worried. Great looking bucks

    Pellet Stove vs Wood Stove

I have and use both from Nov-March. Pellet is a nice simple way to keep warm but I love having a fire. When I get too old to cut or split my wood I'll go to a pellet stove exclusively..

    2017 Mexico !!

It was an incredible week of Coues hunting in Mexico again. Hot temps and full moon made for a little tougher conditions, but deer were moving all day because of it. It was a little tough getting all 8 killed out in 6 days. What a great group of guys/friends and I couldn't have asked for a better time in Mx. I think next year I'll stick with 5 or 6 guys. I am still looking for my 120+" non typical but I was fortunate to have good friends Rob/Jay and Andrew glass this buck up on the opposite side of the ranch on the last day. Hard to pass a 102" mainframe 2x2 so I didn't. thanks guys. I've killed plenty of typical bucks and am always looking for something a little unique, well this one will do. Another brother on the far left and Rob. Thanks again buddy. Great trip as always huge thanks Richard and Rob for helping get it together again. I was lucky enough to go with 3 of my brothers. 2 of which bought tags. After all of the years I've been down I'm glad they were able to go with me. All 8 tags filled Beautiful Coues country.

    Best trail cam bait?

It is probably best to read the regulations but yes anything besides salt for livestock is not to be used in the "take" of wildlife.

How Die Hard Of A Hunter are you??

Well as a self employed small business owner it is difficult for me to take a week off at a time. That being said I specifically live where I do so I can spend 5-6 days a week in the woods before and after work. I'm also a lousy hunter I just spend enough time to be successful every once in a while.

    2018 Rut Predictions

Every year the cows get bred and the rut happens. I think what most people mean by a "good rut" is lots of bugling and fighting etc.. This happens when there is a significant amount of dominant bulls in a given area. On wet monsoon years the bulls can be spread out much further and do not have to confront other bulls/cows at water holes etc.. I've seen the best "rutting" action to take place when it is dry and the elk are concentrated in smaller areas and as such more competition occurs. This year in most of the state water is everywhere, the rut will seem slow to many because of it is my guess.

    Forum software upgrade

Change the theme and it is easy to see. Funny how people don't like change. I don't see a problem with it, it just takes time to adjust.

    General OTC Bear

I can honestly see it happening once, because shooting a bear is cool, but I've seen some of the same people shoot little sows year after year. But more power to them I guess.
