I did not pull the non resident breakdowns this year because it requires a special request and I never got around to putting it in. But I very much doubt that 3a/3c had any NR tags left in the 1-2 pass last year. With that changing this year, you will have a chance, but I can't calculate it precisely. It will be SMALL. The resident chance was 6%, so figure about 10% of that to give you an idea. 6A historically does not fill the quota in the bonus pass, but that doesn't really matter anymore. The resident odds are 25%, yours will be less than that. However, the bonus pass was 6 for that unit last year so there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Yeah it'll get you about 25% of the archery hunts, several late rifle and most of the late archery.

I am not quite as dialed in on this cause I did not due a full table since this is probably the only request I will get for these hunts but a good estimate is 1 - 5%, 10 - 15% Since I am an estimator, I feel like you can probably rest easy that these are pretty close.

Those look like hybrid stakes. I attended several meetings and I hope that folks know enough about me to know that I am neither dumber than a box of rocks nor quiet. I voiced my concerns, offered suggestions that might yield better results. Game and fish was very clear about their desire to increase revenue. I get that and don't have a lot of issue with it. I guarantee you none of those guys were trying to game the system or find a way to get themselves more tags. Most of them are very casual hunters compared to this crowd. Honestly, I don't think they cared about my opinion. The meetings were very lightly attended and I think the message was clear that the constituency is apathetic and disengaged. They know that there is 0 organization to the hunting crowd. People don't get involved, and some who might be willing to speak up won't take the time to figure out how to. You guys are all talk. You get on here and whine and cry. Well guess what, no one cares. Until you put some action and time and money behind your big words then you are no different than the blow hard politicians you mock. There was ample opportunity to get in front of this. Sportsmens groups could have run it straight into the ground, but even our groups are so divided and self serving that they don't work effectively together. Now go on with your big words and chest thumping posts. See how much difference it makes. I have calculations to do.

Limited opp cow rifle gives some 100% odds with 2 pts.

4 points should probably get you drawn in most of the northern cow elk units. 7E late cow is 100% for you. IF that was your 2nd choice, congrats.

1%, buy a bow and switch units or be prepared to wait a LONG time.

At 4 pts you are pretty decent chance on most mid level late rifle bull hunts. You could be 100% on a few cow hunts. You can have the late archery bull tag in Unit 22n most years if you want, and Coon Canyon archery cow every year without burning a point.

1% last year in unit 1. Last time in 27 it was also 1%. With 15 guys ahead of you in line and a 4 guy per year burn off, you could still be afew years away. Now smokepole on the other hand . . .

Strip

Heaven knows I don't know much but for what it's worth (also not much) here it is. You can hunt the Deep Well ranch in either unit, for free, walk in only. Besides that 19b is fairly slim pickings, but you don't need much more than that. The perkinsville ranch in 19a is a crap shoot. Last I checked they only let a couple guys on the ranch and you had to pay up front to get in there. But there was no way to tell what was going to be on the ranch come the hunt when you paid a grand or more in April or May. It's a dicey prospect for an AZ antelope hunt but typically 80"+ is very do able. Has anybody heard how the hints went last year with the reduced tags? I know 2014it was all doom and gloom and all the muzzleloader guys said that the gene pool had been shot out for the next quarter century or so.

We used to party out in the desert there WAY back in the day before there was such a thing as San Tan Valley, we found a dead guy one time. I've stayed away since.

Who cares. Antelope might even be easier to hunt out of the rut when big bucks don't have 20 extra eyes around and don't run all over god's creation chasing every buck that walks by. Overlap in hunting areas with elk is pretty minimal.

Get up high and glass. I like to stay out of the pines so I can actually see. Lower elevations hold mule deer, which I think are easier to hunt spot and stalk than Muley's especially during the rut. There are deer in the whole unit. Good luck!
