That is awesome! Sent you a PM with some questions if you dont mind.

If it is just light gathering I think it will be very hard to beat the swaro it just plain has a larger lens and all the swaro coatings from their binos. However as I said earlier for an all arounder with archery included the Leica is probably the best.

Broke a screw in barrel installing scope base! NEED HELP
rcdinaz replied to birddogg21's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Any gunsmith can do this for you he does not need to be a god of building bench rest accurate hunting rifles or other claims. I would just find someone in your area that won't make you wait forever. Actually any machinist can do it as we'll if you know of one. Oh and don't sweat it everyone has done something like this if they have mounted a few scopes, done any reloading, etc. only time I have screwed something up was due to panic or patients. Just stuck a case in an expensive redding wildcat sizing die last month after many fruitless attempts I left it and came back to it the next weekend and set it free in 10 minutes. If I had kept screwing with it that night I probably would have ruined it and had to wait weeks for another. Good luck! -

Broke a screw in barrel installing scope base! NEED HELP
rcdinaz replied to birddogg21's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Extractor would be best but as Tony said it is going to have to be very small... Go VERY slowly and try and make a groove if you can in the top of it. Whatever you do dont damage the threads or it will have to go to the gunsmith. After you have a groove take a small screwdriver apply some pressure and turn it in very small increments, do not try and go fast just commit some time to working it out. Second option take it to the gunsmith anyway and have it tapped for larger screws with torx heads which is a great upgrade anyway. -
My Swaro is actually really fast. At first I thought it was slow as well but finally figured out that the button is pretty sensitive based on how you push or hold it to get a reading. Basically short distance just touch it and bang, longer distance (very long) you can actually hold it a little longer and get readings at some pretty crazy distances. Also I have ranged at night so I am not sure what the issue is with low light? One more thing for bow hunting I would buy the Leica, smaller and a couple of very cool features. I use my Bushnell for archery, small and angle compensation with no thought.

vortex razor hd vs meopta meostar/cabelas euro
rcdinaz replied to creed_az_88's topic in Optics and tripods
I think you are not seeing much response because there were already a few threads on this. The Meopta are really good for the price the only downside is they are on the heavy side for their size. I have not used the Vortex in the field but the reviews are good. If you want to see reviews on the Meopta check the bird watching sites a lot mor of that crowd using them. -
I have cam pics in the forest w antelope and elk moving around cattle. Deer however don't seem to be very social with any other critters. I am see the cow elk could be used the same way just not during cow elk rifle season.

I carry my 15's everywhere and I have a Swarovski 85 HD. I can glass all day with the 15s but the spotter can where you out.

Ya when we going?
-
Ha! I got the white in the beard thing going on also.
-
I know from MANY cam pics most of the animals don't care too much about cattle if they are in the area. I keep threatening to get the big cow decoy to hide behind but haven't done it yet. Also seems like a good one to keep from some bonehead trying to sneak up on you.

To Biscuit or not to Biscuit? That is the question.
rcdinaz replied to Scooter's topic in Bows, arrows, broadheads
Really!!! This was a decent thread so much for that. PM each other so you don't look like fools to the entire community. Thanks! -
Still my favorite animal, looks amazing!!!

Green case... Hunters specialties. Wet wipes will take face paint off usually with no problem. You can also grow a big fat beard ala duck commander...

Nosler Trophy Grade factory ammo
rcdinaz replied to az_shooter's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Only shot it in one gun and it was fine. There are other premium loads that are very good as well. I ten to use the HSM cartridges loaded with the Berger HVLD's. I try to have a box as a back-up when I head out on a trip as a back up plan, OAL may not be exactly the same but most of the other ballistics will be very close so not much tinkering to confirm the gun is sited. -
Extra contact lenses!

Those look great! I cant believe when I shot my lion this didn't even occur to me. Good news is now I have a reason to fill another lino tag! Definitely having a bear done if I ever actually find one during the season...

Not much difference unless you spend big time on an outdoorsman. Just make sure the legs moved independently and that you realize you might end up dragging it around in your pack for a few miles. The ones with the legs bound together will not work well on uneven terrain. Check this site there are some solid choices in the store.

I have goal zero and it works well. More often than not though I just carry a rechargeable battery backup, current favorite is from Jackery off Amazon.

Meopta are good glass, very good for their price point. You will see much more about them on the bird watching sites as they are a little heavy for their size. Also, I believe they are still the ones making Cabela's high end binos which get very good reviews. Vortex also seem to get good reviews and you might find a used pair for a steal.
