I think Starlink Roam is $150, which you can pause. Works great but that is quite expensive. The Gen 3 seems a little more convenient.

The 20% max-points applies to all units collectively (unlike for turkey ), so unless you put in for a hunt with just a tag, you are almost guaranteed to draw. Note: do not put in for areas you would not want to draw as "what if" options. I know the guy (on here) who took the biggest desert sheep in the state in 28 the year before my hunt and then drew the Rocky in the adjacent area the year after my hunt -- there is always a chance. I would just like to know who he paid off. I don't hold off a significant chance of me drawing a Rocky Tag. It took me 38 yr to draw the desert sheep. The guy that drew the other tag in the same unit (which was the biggest in AZ that year) had been putting in for 52 yr, so it could be worse.

Note that on trailer tires, most have a max speed rating of 65 mph. Goodyear Endurance have something like 83 mph but they are pricey. Discount Tire recommends changing them every 3-4 years, which is what I do on our Travel Trailer. I recycle the old one onto the quad/utility trailers. I try to keep the tire covered and/or inside with the trailer on stands to keep the weight off. I have not had a failure of the Endurance but I have plenty with Carlyle, Green Ball, Goodyear ??? which have been discontinued.

For the tongue weight, you want 10-15% of the loaded trailer weight -- Critical not to have that or you will end up on the nightly news as a bad crash. There are all kinds of demo videos with toys on a treadmill where they move the sliding weights forward to the rear with catastrophic results.

I was reading some replies to some newbie hunter questions that using birddogs in the field is illegal in off-season. Well, "Show Me" book, chapter and verse in the regulations. Now I agree, especially for Mearns which are not doing that well right now, it is a bad idea; but I want to see it in black and white and not someone's opinion. Following a rather extensive search, I did find something specific that you are not allowed to harass birds on the nest, but could find nothing really pertinent. And for all you "Karens" out there, unless you can provide a reference, don't bother. Feel free to start your own discussion on the merits of not using dogs in the field during off-season.

My first "off-road" vehicle was a Baja (71 Beetle) with a Weber and no gearing change. So fun at first but terrible off-road due to the high gearing. My big truck got better gas mileage and it has a heater and a/c. Reminds me of the old saying: "The happiest day in ones life is when he sells his Baja (boat or whatever). The second happiest was when he bought it."

Does it come with a motorlift to get it into a truck?

I suspected it was not entirely clear in the law for someone to downgrade someone else over it. To be clear, I do not support chasing quail with a dog during nesting season. Also, the snakes are rampant. I just don't like people making up additions to the law. Portraying the situation as an ethics issue or stewardship or sportsmanship, is more appropriate.
