It will be a good hunt, but can be very tough and cold. Try and get away from roads and get down near some of the canyons to glass. Get up there a couple weeks before your hunt and scout. If the weather has gotten nasty and cold the transition area might be good.

Archery headquarters in Chandler stocks flatline. I bought one recently.

I am a commercial salesman for a large local HVAC distribution company. Their are 2 main problems with residential HVAC. 1. Tech schools are not teaching techs to be skilled at diagnostics they way they used to I don't believe. They are pushing them through school as fast as they can and just teaching them to be parts changers. They are not teaching them to master skills they should have. 2. Alot of companies, especially the larger ones, have gone to paying techs mostly or completely on commission. This means the more crap they can sell you the more money they make. Some companies pay a tech little or nothing for a warranty repair like a capacitor or contractor, so they have to find something to sell or do that is not under warranty so they make money for a service call. Questionable business practices have helped force alot of techs to do questionable things, and make questionable recommendations. They have to give in to the pressure of doing questionable things or if they dont produce enough income for the company they get fired. The commercial sector isn't as riddled with bad business practices, but they do still exist. ................ As for wholesalers causing the problem in the market that is not nearly the problem that the contractors cause. We follow the laws set by the government for refrigerant and efficiency standards. Our margins on new equipment is pretty thin to be honest. The contractors often make quite a bit higher margin then we do on our own equipment. Factory parts do have a larger markup but part of that markup is for easy installation of direct swap parts, and to cover man hours for warranty claims (valid and fraudulent). Generic parts are low margin items. If techs knew more (back to the schooling issue above) techs could use a lot more generic parts and save people money. They often want to sell the higher price part that is easier to install though.

Here is a couple hints. Don't ever call any company you have seen commercials for, heard on the radio, or seen billboards for unless you like giving away extra cash to strangers for no reason. The AC business, especially on the residential side has ALOT of scummy people and companies. If you want to buy your own AC parts don't use Grainger unless you like paying 40% extra to be able to get it right away. Don't buy off brand no name air conditioning units.

Is this a split system or a package unit?

An update: I stopped in today and Harlan was there! He is a little thinner and still has some recovery procedures ahead, but it was good to see him! Stop in and say hello. He is also in the middle of helping the family of Glendale guns clear out that inventory. I guess Bill passed last week to Harlan is helping his family. He had some good stuff in there including a Ruger Presicion rifle on the used rack in 6.5CM

Hi Guys, I just wanted to make sure anyone who knows him is sending good thoughts his way. He is having some serious health issues and good thoughts help. It sounds like he is on the mend, but he has a lot of healing to do. If you read this Harlan, get better soon. Harley

The roads are generally pretty good. If I were you on that hunt I would be hiking up toward or into the wilderness area. Most of the bulls will still probably be up that way early in the season like that. 1 word of advice. Stay off road 419. That road was absolute crap a couple years ago. It shows to be a good road on the maps, but if you take it you better be a good driver, have some good clearance, and be ready to drive. If you had a side by side that road may not be as bad, but don't do it in a standard pickup. Lance is correct though, this is a tough hunt. Be ready to hike hard and find some water to be near.

Got mine yesterday.

I am on week 3 now and really enjoying training BJJ. I am doing no-gi 2-3 times a week. I am digging it. Blackflag BJJ has been a fun place to train so far.

I just put a VX6 2-12x42 on a rifle so I hope it does well. I have not tried tracking with it yet. I thought long and hard about a Nightforce too. It was the 3-10x42. What I liked about nightforce was that the scope felt stout and well made. The clicks seem positive, and it felt robust. It felt like you could really put a hurting on the scope and not worry about issues with it. I have been looking for a scope for another rifle, and am seriously considering Nightforce for it. The only thing I really didn't like about most of the Nightforce line was that most of the scopes use a 56mm objective. I don't love huge objective lenses on rifles. I think it can make them look funny.

Hunt it all day every day. If you had max points and a real issue that would make you miss the tag or not be able to hunt it well, then maybe I understand. Otherwise hunt it.

I have started listening to some of your podcasts and picked up some useful info as well as good entertainment. -
My buddy had an xterra and it was a decent SUV but a complete dog on power.

We had good results with Berger HVLD in 168gr over RL22. We tested out to 500 yards with good results.

I had an odd charging issue on my 05 dodge Cummins recently. I was pretty sure the alternator was going out because my voltage kept fluctuating up and down. I grabbed a new alternator and started to change it. I got the belt off, the first bolt out, and then went to disconnect the charging wire and the nut that held it on was backed way off. It was touching sometimes and not others which was causing the issue. So I had to put it all back together, and getting that belt back on can be a PITA.

About 3 years ago scouting for elk. We were still in the beginning phases here.

I can probably make it work. I added a double breaker recent to run a 20amp circuit into my garage. It had almost no power outlets in the garage so I added 4 different receptacles around the garage to plug in real tools and be able to run my air compressor with tripping a breaker all the time. I think I have enough space left for one 230v connection. But I had planned to use that for a dedicated 50amp welder plug. So I will probably add another double breaker to run a 115v mini-split if I go that route.

The biggest 115v mini-split I can get from Carrier is 1 Ton. that would be light on cooling for a 2 car garage in the summer, but I am sure it would help knock the nasty edge off if you need to work out there. I am looking at 1 of these for my house currently as I don't have a 208/230/1 breaker open in my panel. I do have room for 1 more 115V breaker though... If you have 208/230/1 you can go much larger. Carrier offers a 3 Ton high wall style system that is pretty reasonable. The thing to remember about a lot of mini-split systems is they are designed to be disposable. You can't just replace a condenser or fan coil if something craps out. You have to replace them as whole systems most of the time. They are very cost effective though. I work for a Carrier distributor which is why I know and talk about Carrier. Unfortunately I can't sell equipment direct to end users, but if you have a contractor or need a contractor to quote something for you, I can probably lead you in the right direction.

Get it to a good shop. Doesn't sound good though.

Hi Guys, I have not been to the north side of the great ditch since I was a kid. Now I have a hunt up there in October/Nov and I have a couple questions. 1. Do any of the game processors have a trailer up there for storage & processing? Do they do good work? I don't really want to have to drive back to forth to Flagstaff in the middle of the hunt if my buddy or I haven't tagged out at similar times. 2. Trailer/Campgrounds - I will probably have a 22' trailer with me to camp in. It looks like the campgrounds will be closed by then. Where is a good place to look at camping? 3. Does Jacobs Lake or any other nearby areas have diesel fuel? My main form of transpo will be my diesel pickup. 4. What else should I know? I am going to scout, but I would like to get some info before I head up.
