Throat Length Question
ctracingraptor replied to CouesPursuit's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I dont have any sgk lying around to compare to, but looking on the ol interwebs, the sgk appear to have a larger ogive, and that might be your issue. Im curious if you wouldnt have this issue with a 69 smk, since that are much narrower. -
Throat Length Question
ctracingraptor replied to CouesPursuit's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I find that interesting, i load 69 SMK to 2.260, loading a heavier bullet will definatley change your oal, with a short throat like that running something like a 77 SMK wont even be a option. What method are you using to measure your oal? -

Mega drool, im in the process of building the same thing but in FDE -
Sorry for the bad luck with the coppers, i myself havent had any issues. I've shot two deer in 12A with the Barnes coppers, with no issues, one year 60 yard shot, severe trauma, not one step taken. Other shot was about 115 yards, quartering towards me, bullet entered behing the right shoulder, exit would was in front of left rear leg, he ran about 25 yards. This was the most trauma i personally have every seen, their was not one identifiable organ inside, it was like it all got thrown in a blender. This was done with a 270 mind you. I still have the pics of the carnage, but i dont want to ruin such a great post.

Lance i have a ton of Remington once fired brass, and a few winchester. Let me know if you need some, i'll be glad to bring it over.

They give out free ammo only if you pull a kaibab or strip tag like 12AE, 12AW, 12B, 13A, 13B

Glad you got to go, i was going to join you, but had to work. Banes has proven itself yet again, with great weight retention. Not very fair to compare a core-lokt to a vor-tx. But excellent review, i would have loved to see more copper round choices, to bad they didnt let you keep the gel lol. Great job Lance, as always.

That blue looks really good, a teenager or wife would love that setup. Keep up the good work. -
My local ffl only charges me $15 to run the background check, and receive a gun i ordered from the web.

I have the exact gun, and its literally the most reliable semi auto shotgun ive ever owned. I would take this over my Benelli any day. I though i stole mine for i got mine for. How sad that this happened, if you were closer i would buy it just for spare parts if ever needed. Bump for a nice gun.

Klean strip works good, burns a little. Now aircraft stripper, destroys paints, and really really burns.
