Sauerfish Charter Review 6 pack San Diego

Recommended Posts

Doing this on my cell, so will be brief.

Used 6 pack Sauerfish charters out of Point Loma Sportfishing, https://www.sauerfishcharters.com/the-boat.  Went out at 5am and got a ton of bait.  The rear swim step is a bait tank to use for throwing, center deck bait tank and a corner tank as well.  We headed out into Mexican waters (371).  Breakfast was a killer fat breakfast burrito.  Standard kierig coffee, water, soda and yes beer was included.  Chips and candies with fruit as snacks.  Lunch was a panini style turkey sandwhich, very filling, with potatoe salad and pickle.

Hit the grounds, hitting pattys,  pulled a Yellowtail out, moved on.  More kelp and much of the same, 1 and 2s here and there, was a non biting day.  Got on a small patty, loaded with Dorado flashing and jumping but we could only stick 4.  There was a ton of yellowtail and yellowfin tuna under it, but nothing wouldn't bite.

Kept trolling all day, no luck. We fished a little longer than expected and had to get back to the barn, they had trip leaving that night.  Ended up with 7 yellowtail and 4 Dorado.  Bite was slow and tough, tried throwing a surface iron and sniper for jigging, no dice.

Didnt get to use my new Opah kill bag, as we just filleted the fish and basically ate them for dinner over the grill.

Will recommend this charter, captain and deckhand worked hard and kept us in the loop and tried to get these fish on.

Also, you want some killer tacos, check out Salud Tacos https://saludtacos.com/ about 15 mins from the landings, suggest Uber as parking sucks.  Place is in the Barrio Logan district.

Right on, thanks for sharing. Seems like the fish are on one day and off the next. Weird times until those solid warm water currents come.
