Tikka T3X Lite 270 WSM / Leupold VX-3i For Sale

Recommended Posts

I'm selling my Tikka T3X Lite Stainless in 270 WSM.  I purchased this new and broke in the barrel (clean after each of the first 5 shots, then after each of the next five 3-shot groups).  Barrel has had a total of 53 rounds through it.  Also included is a Leupold VX-3i 4.5-14x50 scope.  Both the rifle and the scope are in excellent condition, and owner's manuals and original boxes for both are included.  Scope sits in Vortex rings on an Outer Impact rail.  Rifle also has a Butler Creek sling and a slip-on Limbsaver recoil pad.  Finally I'm including 25 rounds of Hornady Precision Hunter 145 gr ELD-X ammo, 15 rounds of Federal 130 gr Nosler Accubond ammo and 7 rounds of Federal 140 gr Trophy Bonded Tip ammo.  I had the best success with the Hornady ammo which pretty consistently shot 0.75"-1" groups off the bench.

Asking $1,100 for the whole package.  Located in Chandler, can meet where convenient for you.  PM or call/text Jim at (602) 999-5073 if interested.  Thanks!

This looks like it’s on a long action… if it is… I am interested.

I'm not a Tikka expert, but my understanding is that all of the T3s have the same action (long/"standard"), but the short-action cartridges have a different bolt stop (and magazine I'd assume) that can be changed or modified to accommodate long action cartridges.  Is there a specific measurement or photo that would help?  Or if you'd like I can bring it to you and you can check it out yourself.  If you're in Gilbert you can't be too far from me (I'm at Ray and 101).

Tikka's have just one size of action.  The 270 WSM would have been built with a short action bolt stop and short action magazine.  You would need to change out those two items to make it a long action.

Tikka actions are 1 length.  Change the bolt stop and magazine and it goes from Short to Long.  My understanding is that you can't build a super long COAL like a 300RUM without making it a single round feed, but anything that fits a Std Long Action should work as a Magazine Fed Rifle.

Thanks for the heads-up. I’m thinking about building a 7mm PRC.

That’s a sweet cartridge.  Let me know if you’d like to take a look at it.

We just did one on a Tikka.  Proof Prefit we had Todd South install for us.  Thing is an absolute tack driver.  My son is hitting a 10" gong at 1000 yds.  Just shot his 1st Bull at 628...double lunger.  Didn't go 10ft........great round.

Jim

I think I will hold out for one that already has the parts for the longer cartridges. Thanks so much for the reply and good luck with your sale!
