Barnesboy Report post Posted Monday at 02:26 AM Good evening everyone, Am in 5A right now trying to help my 57 year old neighbor fill his bull tag. We’ve been here since opening day and yesterday finally found some elk but one group was all cows and the other group had 2 bulls and they were 1300 yards away and not stopping. He isn’t real picky just looking to fill the freezer. We’ve done a lil hiking but can’t go far cause he has bad knees and hips. We’ve hunted around Blue Ridge and seen nothing but people opening day and then went down lower and that’s where we saw the elk. Went back today to try and get back on them and there was more hunters down there driving around then the day before. Any info or just a hint of anything would be greatly appreciated thank you and good hunting.

Barnesboy Report post Posted Tuesday at 04:33 AM We spent all day down by Jacks Canyon and saw 8 cows all day. Then on the way out tonight the tension pulley for the power steering decided to leave the chat. LOL so drove 18 miles back to camp with no power steering. Tomorrow we’re gonna take it easy in the morning and do something’s around camp and try to fix the pulley. Then we’re gonna stay up high around camp for the evening hunt. So I spent the rest of the hunt with no power steering which wasn’t bad. That evening we went out and stayed up high with no luck. Wednesday was spent down low and in the evening time we got on some elk but had to back out cause the snow storm that came in. Thursday, the last day was a little more exciting, we cut some fresh bull tracks in the snow and decided to go for a walk. Less then 20 minutes later we had a 330-340 class bull at 100 yards but since we basically went straight up a mountain my neighbor who is 57, a smoker, has bad knees and hips was winded by the time he got in place and the bull took off. We stayed in the area till dark to find him but he was gone. Finished the hunt with tag soup. But did learn a little about a new unit I’ve never hunted before.
