velvet bucks

Recommended Posts

I always hear eastern whitetail hunters talking about how bucks in velvet move very little. Basically food to bed. Does anybody know if this is true of coues? From what I have seen coues deer are all about pressure once they feel it their gone.

I watched some bucks last year that didn't move much in the velvet aswell as when their antlers became hard. It might have had something to do with the abundance of food that was available last year too. I think that couse deer like their home range, and if they feel pressured they know where to hide right close by.
