San Carlos Squirrels

Those Aberts are shaping up nice now for winter with the rust-colored back and growing the ear tassles. With the season open till Dec 31 now, there could be some prime pelts for mounts. How did they taste? Acorny? Piney?

 

I haven't tried them yet, but they smell piney and they were spending most of their time in the tops of trees chewing on pine cones.
