Important 2011 Elk / Pronghorn Dates

I had 1 tag in 2010 and that was for Javilina, so you can imagine I (as I am sure many others) am already chopping at the bit for the 2011 season. Till then its the shooting ranges and the lakes.

 

Mid-January - Pronghorn and Elk regulation hunt draw information booklet available at Department offices and license dealers statewide.

February - Application deadline is anticipated second Tuesday of February.

Archery won't get you drawn much faster, in fact some archery tags are harder to get than rifle tags. all depends. good luck

they need to cut about 50 percent of elk tags is unit 6A north and south and west. If farmers are tired of the elk in their crops then let them sale permits on their farms. The elk are being forced to the city limits. 4000 tags in 6A since Aug. what a joke.
