LOOKIN FOR A LITTLE HELP,

I AM TRYING TO DECIDE WHICH WEEK TO HUNT UNIT 33 BEFORE THE END OF SEASON.

HERES THE DEAL, I HAVE ONLY ONE 4 DAY WEEKEND THAT I CAN GET AWAY BETWEEN NOW AND JAN 31ST.

THINGS I HAVE BEEN CONSIDIRING TO HELP ME DECIDE:

1. MOON PHASE; THE LAST WEEKEND IN JANUARY, NO MOON!!

2. WEATHER, WHAT IS UP WITH THIS DRY HOT HIGH PRESSURE LOOP WE ARE STUCK IN?

3. THE RUT, THE RUT, THE RUT, WHEN WILL IT STRIKE? (was in the field for 5 days last week and no sign of it happing )

JUST A FEW THINGS I HAVE TO PONDER.

HOW ABOUT A LITTLE HELP,

THX,

LC.

I don't know much about moon phase, and it is quite hot, but I have been down in 33, 4 days spread out over the last week and a half and every day bucks were chasing does. I saw 4 bucks chasing the same group of does yesterday. I talked with a friend that guides/lives there and his client stalked a couple of big bucks yesterday that were pushing does around.

In general, but not always, I have found that the more moon you have, the less active they are during the day. But if the bucks are chasing does now, forget about the moon and the weather and go now! WHT_MTNMAN, what elevation did you see the rutting action?

bowsniper- I saw bucks pushing does between 4000-5500 I didn't look much lower or higher though. A friend was glassing some steep peaks at elevations over 5500.
