Here is my owl story. We had a house fire and ended up living in a rental house for a while. Our bed room was on the second floor with a little outside balcony. Every night these two great horned owls would hoot all night long from the roof. It was great for a while, but with being on call every night, and 3 small children I was getting tired of sleepless nights. One night for who knows what reason I tell Christine, watch this I'm gonna mess with these owls a little bit. I step out onto the balcony in the moonless night and make a few mouse squeaks. I had no sooner got the sound out when WACK right in the side of my head. One of the owls had flown down and hit me in the head. Christine was asking did that really happen? Another one of those times when she was asking herself, What am I doing with this dumb **s.

My Owl-Story is kinda similar to Runningbird's:

My parent's have a little spread in the southeast valley. When college was out, I use to spend my weekends doing yard projects with Dad (laying irrigation pipe, planting trees, etc.). After a long day's work Dad and I would relax under the cottonwood's with a beer. That beer often turned into cocktail hour, which turned into hunting-story time by the fire pit. One night, as we were scheming for an upcoming scouting trip around the fire, two large owls flew across the pasture and overhead. This wasn't unusual, as we often would see these owls fly through the night sky on their way to hunt. However, on this particular night, the owls chirped and circled our property. After listening to them hunt for a few minutes, I ran into the house and grabbed my little mouse squeaker. When I came back out to the fire, Dad told me they had just flew on and out of ear shot. I walked out into the pasture, sat up against a cottonwood trunk and started squeaking. Not three seconds later, those owls came swooping over the oleanders and right at me. The lead owl wasn't but 3 feet off the ground and five yards from me, with talons out, when I finally got scared enough to stand up. When I did, he banked hard and they flew away for the night.

It was awesome and we took it as a reason to have another beer :)
