dse Report post Posted October 10, 2016 I came across this, although it a bit dated. http://precisionrifleblog.com/2013/12/30/best-rifle-action/ I saw that as well. I found the same list for 2015 and Defiance was listed in the top spot.
duckhunter175 Report post Posted October 11, 2016 I have a 26" pac-nor 8 twist stainless that I'm looking to part ways with. Was going to be a 22-243 but I have too many irons in the fire if you are interested.
sjvcon Report post Posted October 12, 2016 If choose something in the 6mm class. Light enough for prairie dogs and heavy enough for deer.as far as aftermarket actions go I'm not sure? I've thought of going that route for the sexiness of it but it's really not needed since a factory action can perform or out perform the nice aftermarket ones. I'm sure any aftermarket action you choose with a built in rail will be good. Don't really need it to be deer rifle already have 22-250 Ai,243wssm,25-06,257wby,6.5x55 Swed,6.5-300wby,a couple 270wsm's,30-06Ai,and a 300rum for backup deer rifles. When I go for some prairie dog action 600 rnd days aren't uncommon so looking for another rifle that's easy on powder, barrel, ears, shoulder, and just plain fun to shoot. Some times I go by myself so being able to call my own shots would be a plus. 6.5x300 wby ... now that sounds like a FLAT SHOOTER!!!!
dse Report post Posted October 12, 2016 It's wicked flat! Only put factory weatherby ammo through it so far. Only topping my 270 Wsm by 25fps 3475 to 3500 both with 130gr Swift Scirocco's, but dialing 5 1/4 moa @ 650 yds with the weatherby and 11 with the 270 Wsm.
