Adding Turrets to your scope

Recommended Posts

Yep. got turrets on my 270wsm. The scope is a Zeiss 4.5-14x50. Love em! The only part where they could be a pain is if you have a quick (possibly running) shot at an animal way out there.. but at the same time, thats not a shot that should be taken unless the game is already wounded.

Never mind.

They must track towards skull plates.

Guess I will just hold over :(

If you buy a new scope you may want to take a look at the Ziess Conquests at camera land. For the money they are real tough to beat and they have an option for target turrets. I shoot the 6.5x20 and love it! Got it at camera land for $650.

If you just want to add turrets to your current scope then take a look at the Kenton Industries website. They make turrets for a lot of different models, but not all, and I think they're under $100. If you call them they are very helpful and willing to answer your questions. You might have to leave them a message, but they will call you back. http://www.kentonindustries.com/

I guess you better find a new bullet Casey

It only took Linnea 1 shot at that range to SLAM her Bull :D

I spent about 2-1/2 hours reading all the old topics

this morning since it was way to cold to go outside and work.

Never really found the answers I was looking for.

TAM, I did check out Kenton and it does not look like they have them for my scope

Plus I think I would like to go up to a 50MM.

Their web site is a little confusing about if you need turrets before you add theirs

Does anyone have a scope with turrets they want to get rid of?

It looks like I am going to need to buy a scope for what I want to do$$$$$$$$

Thanks,

Mike

Thanks Tim

I think I am going to use the Kenton turrets

I am looking real hard at a couple scopes on ebay right now.

My Question to you guys is power choice.

4-16X42 Or

5-20X44

I think a 10 or 12 power upper end is to low

and 6 maybe 5 is to high on the lower end.

Getting into a 50MM just gets the cost beyound my budget

unless the Burris 3-12X50 tactical may be a choice.

I hunt mostly up north with more vegetation than the southern units.

Thanks,

Mike

Look at the Zeiss 4.5-14x50 WITH turrets, or the 6.5-20x50 WITH TURRETS!!!! They are awesome scopes and track perfectly!

Believe me! I know what im talkin about a little bit when it comes to this.

I pm'ed you with my telephone number if you want to ask any questions.

Plus, the Zeiss scopes are affordable.

Nice thing about the Zeiss turrets is you can set them to 0... as in whereever your 0 that you want is at, you can unscrew the cap and turn it so the 0's are aligned with the mark of where 0 actually is. does that make sense?

Mike, I don't know what your budget is, but Casey is right about the Zeiss scopes. I love mine and they are pretty reasonable priced. Also remember they come with the turrets so you don't have to shell out another c-note for the Kenton turrets.

If the Zeiss are still out of your price range then look at the Nikon Monarch's. I've got one in 6-16x44 that has served me very well. I'd be a little worried about a 20 power scope with a 44mm objective, it may not be able to gather enough light at dawn and dusk to get the job done. JMO.

Good luck!

Thanks,

I am trying to do a $5-600.00 deal

I can do either of the above mentioned glass for $500.00 or less

with Nikon monarchs and Kenton turrets

but I will take another look at the Ziess

Little to big of a bite right now though
