BLM Proposed shooting sites

Thanks for sharing. I’ll send in my comments. Looking at the proposed sites, nothing in the east valley. Here’s an overview. It will open up in Google Earth.

The only places I can think to put a shooting facility in the east valley would be east of gold canyon, around florence or to the north of saguaro lake. I do believe the location near casa grande is already being used and they are expanding the site.

Yeah, no really good place on the east side. Too many recreational conflicts nearby. A lot of that land is State Trust too. Add a growing retirement population in and around Gold Canyon, doubt it’ll fly.

Until you get past Florence, there is almost no BLM land on the east side...and a lot of the stuff past Florence is wildernes.  There is some used for flood control in the immediate vicinity of homes around the Mesa/AJ line and one small section out near the Peralta road.   Other than that, you're looking at Forest Service and State Trust Land.  So, that's why you aren't seeing anything for us east valley people in this proposal.
