What doesn't make sense is this is entirely a programming issue. They could have/should have programmed the tag fee to go along with the type of tag be that youth, non-res, or multiple hunters etc. ...Unless they didn't want to give $s back based on a technicality.

IMO, that should be the case, but that's not what the rule states. In the past (going back to 2008), we never paid the "adult fee" when being issued youth hunt elk tags. We applied for a few of the September bull tags over those years btw. The one year we did pay the "adult tag fee", my son drew one of those highly coveted September rifle bull tags (he was 15). It was a great hunt too!

That's messed up... you should be charged for the type of tag issued!

After you posted above I took screenshots of our portals. This is a year to remember... or forget! 🤣 mine is just an archery cow (2nd choice, probably the 11pm card hit), but my son has a November 5B bull tag.

so did they both get tags? haha, perhaps someone "verifying" info by hand wanted to gain some extra "averaged" BPs! lol

True enough, but we've actually scored one of those leftover tags in the past so it is possible, well, was possible... edit... & know we drew two tags this year so it doesn't affect me.

absolutely, depends on who was drawn before his number came up & where they put in for on 1st & 2nd choice. Think of it this way... While the odds may be less for a 2nd choice hunt, reality is those applying for specific hunts don't come in numerical order, only the random number assigned to each app.

Well, I'm sure everyone has already checked this morning, but we had a charge show up at about 11pm last night. Typically our card company posts charges immediately after being "hit", so not sure why that happened, but at the same time feel "blessed!"

nobody knows, & honestly there are usually a lot more on saying they got hit than the handful so far! I hope this isn't over!

FOIA is for Federal requests whereas this falls under state law. That said, AZ has something similar, but not nearly as stringent as FOIA laws. IMO, after looking into it recently, I believe it's easier for AZ State Agencies to get away with not divulging info than at the Federal level.
