My friend had that tag in 1989. Perkins wanted $1000.00 Saw 2 goats over 90 on his ranch. We ended up on the Granite Dells Ranch. We stopped in at the Ranch House and met Jay Wilkinson. He let us hunt the ranch for free. I think he has passed and his wife or daughter have the ranch. Worth a try there. We took this 89 incher there. Lots of checkerboard state land in there also. Good Hunting

Never heard of the cane beds. Is that in 12aw, 12ae or 13 ? Not going to the strip. I know of Kanes ranch and Kanes canyon in 12ae.

Headed up there sat. Should be great weather, Gonna hit the west side. Up for some yoties and I always have a lion tag handy. Hit mostly the wilderness areas where no trucks or quads romp around.

23 pts for speed goats and nothing again. My brother drew either 4b or 3A with 23 pts also. At least I'm gonna be on a hunt. Just as good for me.

Just saw on the news that 60 head of Elk were rounded up East of Flagstaff and sent to West Virginia. Think it was 57 cows and 3 bulls. Whats your thoughts on this ?

I'm sure that many of the cows are impregnated. Heard could possibly double this year. Just hope the 3 bulls survive for awhile. Think the bulls were 3 year olds. I hope that they will wait 5 years or more for a limited hunt.

Thanks to all who gave me some 7 E help for my brothers hunt. He has had some recent health issues that prevented him from getting out and cutting some country like he has done for the past 50+ years. He actually was just looking for any bull for meat. He feels bad that he may have taken an early rifle bull tag from someone who was wanting a trophy hunt, but these health issues came after the draw. This poor guy had a little run in with a porcupine, quills behind both hoofs. Hope that porky got the worst of it. Thanks again to all.

If you have the early hunt, good area is around Jolly Sink. Great spot.

I havn't posted in awhile. My older brother drew a 7E early rifle bull tag. He has some health issues and this will probably be his last Elk hunt. If anyone has any input on an area that doesnt require long amounts of hiking and higher elevation spots, it would be appreciated. He is just looking for a Bull, any bull. I dont want anyones "Honeyholes " I have helped several members in the past with Mule deer hunts. I know that some of you dont like to give out info, I understand. We will not be out looking for a monster, just a Bull of any kind. Thanks.
